Two U.S. Republican lawmakers Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Lincoln Diaz-Balart, invited members of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal of Honduras for a press conference next Wednesday in Washington, reported on Thursday a joint statement.

TSE's delegation includes the president, José Saúl Escobar, and judges Enrique Ortez Sequeira and David Andres Matamoros, detailed the text signed by both the Florida state legislators.

The Honduran judges can in principle come to America because they are not subject to the embargo that the U.S. visa decreed against his country on 25 August, said a source at the office of Ros-Lehtinen.

"Despite the incredible lack of U.S. support, the democratic institutions in Honduras continue forward with a transparent electoral and constitutional process that began long before Manuel Zelaya was ousted," the text of both legislators.

"Rather than undermine the legitimacy of the November elections, the U.S. should commend the people of Honduras for its commitment to the valuable principle of the democratic process," added the text.

Ros-Lehtinen and Diaz-Balart, traveled to Honduras two weeks ago to gather firsthand information from the government and groups which oppose the return to power of ousted President Manuel Zelaya.

Both presented in the House of Representatives a resolution to support the holding of presidential elections in Honduras on 29 November.

This is a good thing. I look forward to it. We need to get press attention on it.
