Can someone please explain why anyone would hold a loyalty to a nation that so disrespected them, that it encouraged them to flee?

Every European immigrant I have ever met just about spit on his homeland when compared to the U.S. Those who think like these Mexicans have selective memories and only remember the good times back home.

So far, I have only used the following confrontational argument agianst some La Raza types in the comments section of various newspapers. I suggest anyone respond to them in this same manner as too many Americans let their claims slide. This was in response to a "This used to be our land" or specifically to the "You stole this land" types:

"Only for the sake of argument, suppose we did steal your land? Back in 1847 both sides of the border looked exactly the same for a hundred miles in either direction. What did you do with the land we let you keep? We turned ours into a prosperous and wealth-generating area. You turned yours into a corrupt crime-ridden Hellhole that each year forces people to risk their lives in escaping."

An alternative I have also used:
"Let's see if I've got this right. Around 1300 the Aztecs show up and steal the land from the locals. You don't complain. In 1519 the Spaniards arrive and steal the land from the Aztecs. Unless you're a pure-bred Indian, your blood is tainted with those of thieves. You don't complain. In 1821 you steal the land from Spain. You don't complain. In 1847 we won this land in a war in which in every battle we were outnumbered and still won. Now you complain. Please 'splain to me the differences." I get no responses.

(I put in the dates as many of these La Raza types don't even know the history of the country they champion.)

You’re right. They don’t know their history.

The Southwest of the United States was never conquered by Mexico. It was inhabited by Spaniards but with the exception of the Alamo, they didn’t really conquer it either.

The Mission system was the closest thing to actual habitation by Spain. Later on land grants were issued by Spain. The issuing party and those receiving those land grants didn’t compensate the Indians who owned or inhabited the land at the time of the land grants.

In 1825 Spain left Mexico and the land today known as the South Western United States. Around 1852 the United States took possession of the territories it owns today. It did so after winning the war with Mexico. It also compensated Mexico for the territory.

Mexico only held the land from 1825 to around 1852. The figure 26 years stands out in my mind here.

So the idea that Mexico had obtained the land with honor, and deserved to own it in perpetuity, is just worthless pap.

If they didn’t compensate the Indians they stole the land from, how could they fault the U.S. for obtaining the land.

I don’t fully understand how the land was broken up from the original land grant owners. It is unclear to me if most of it was done honorably, or pretty much by the same process the land grant owners used when they absconded with Indian lands.

These idiots on the streets have been fired by by Marxist front organizations, and haven’t a clue what they are talking about.
