The political crisis in Honduras appears to be closer to a resolution after negotiators reached a deal.
However few details are known of the deal which has yet to be approved by ousted President Manuel Zelaya and interim President Roberto Micheletti.
Mr Zelaya was sent into exile in June, but has been inside Brazil's embassy since secretly returning in September.
He wants to be reinstated before 29 November elections, but the interim leaders have resisted his demands.
They say he was legally removed from office as he had violated the Honduran constitution.
Mr Zelaya's lead negotiator Victor Meza said the two sides had "agreed on one unified text that will be discussed and analysed by President Zelaya and Mr Micheletti."
"I wouldn't talk of an end to the political crisis, but an exit, yes," he was quoted by Reuters news agency as saying.
Mr Zelaya has set a deadline of Thursday for agreement to be reached.
"Elections without the reinstatement of the constitutional (elected) president would legitimise and authorise more coups in Honduras," Mr Zelaya told the AFP news agency before negotiators announced a deal had been reached.

But Chavez WAS sponsoring a military coup against Honduras.
Zelaya can go pound sand.
Agreement? A plea bargain perhaps?
He's talking pretty big for a guy hiding out in the Brazilian Embassy
With Obama's approval.
The only reason BBC (or rooters, or slimes, or...) would
have a news item of an “imminent agreement” is if there isn’t one, and the zelaya crowd wants to add pressure to the Honduran Government crowd to relent and give up their legal power.
This will probably not turn out in Zelaya’s favor in the long run. I have a feeling he’ll end up with a severe case of lead poisoning if he keeps pushing his luck.
How can there be a “deal,” when neither the illegitimate pretender Zelaya nor the legitimate government of Honduras has agreed to it?
Typical Orwellian duckspeak. Apparently this means that Obama and his pals have agreed on what they want to shove down Honduras’s throat.
Soooooo, everybody EXCEPT the two principle parties has agreed to a deal!?!
Bwahahahahahahaaaaaaaaa
Is that like at a car dealership when a salesman says "we have a deal" but the
manager hasn't written a contract and the customer hasn't said he wants one?
Oh, wait, that doesn't happen because car salesmen aren't STUPID!
We’ll let you leave the Brazilian Embassy and head for the border, and if you’re out of the country in an hour we won’t shoot you
Hopefully your feeling turns out the case. :)
One thing about Zelaya is he’s consistent, he can’t take no for an answer.
let Z agree to not run again, reinstate him for the short period till the new election. everyone saves face,Z can go retire in venezuela and president present can pretend he was right and is a statesman.
of course they can just offer Z his life in exchange for leaving.
“Soooooo, everybody EXCEPT the two principle parties has agreed to a deal!?!”
A deal carved in stone...................
R O T F L M A O
“One thing about Zelaya is hes consistent, he cant take no for an answer.”
Most sociopaths don’t.
He can't run again no matter what anyone agrees to. The Honduran constitution limits everyone to one term as president. No exceptions.
Liberals. “If we just say that unicorns crap Skittles then it will be true. Wheeeeeeeeeeee!”
If Zelaya gets into the presidency again, what’s the guarantee he will leave? Latin America has a long, long history of such people who seized power and made themselves president for life.
And although the majority of Hondurans probably oppose him, he is a populist who has backers. And possibily he could find supporters in the army, willing to turn on the officers who expelled him earlier, in return for power.
It’s an old and all too common story. Chavez was actually given the boot once, but when he got back in because the idiots in the CIA advised Bush to do nothing, that was it. He is now Dictator for Life, and he’ll kill anyone who interferes with his wishes. As many already have died for opposing him.
The MSM would be on all fours looking for them.
Why does Zelaya have to approve it? He isn’t anybody.
