Rush Limbaugh is expected to be dropped from a group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams, according to three NFL sources.
Dave Checketts, chairman of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and the point man in the Limbaugh group attempting to buy the Rams, realizes he must remove the controversial conservative radio host from his potential role as a minority member in the group in order to get approval from other NFL owners, the sources said.
Three-quarters of the league's 32 owners would have to approve any sale to Limbaugh and his group. Earlier this week, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay predicted that Limbaugh's potential bid would be met by significant opposition. Several players have also voiced their displeasure with Limbaugh's potential ownership position, and NFL Players Association head DeMaurice Smith, who is black, urged players to speak out against Limbaugh's bid.

The racists win.
Rush should put the money he would have invested into gold bars and stash them in a bank vault out of the US. The return will likely be better as the world’s economy deteriorates further and they would be out of the clutches of Obama’s new taxes.
Free Repulbic needs to improve their search engine.
Rush should have a scathing commentary tomorrow about the black racists and the craven NFL owners who cowtowed to them. But he has too much class for that.
Maybe he’s better off. Who knows what problems he might have avoided.
What the devil means for evil...God will turned into good.
I was afraid Rush’s “partners” would sell him out. Actually, I always thought Rush should stick to broadcasting and save the distractions for his retirement.
Sue them for picking on a deaf guy while you are at it. Give them their own medicine.
it’s the first item listed in breaking news, but i agree the search engine needs a tune-up.
After many years of denial I say ‘screw professional football!’
Honestly speaking, if I was the NFL, I wouldn't want anyone as controversial as Rush as an owner, even if I was a big fan of Rush's. Al Davis is bad enough of a distraction. Heck, I think the NBA has a problem with Mark Cuban.
Much like the government, the NFL has lost sight of where their money comes from...
I gave up on the NFL years ago. I havent watched the super bowl in 9 years. Nor any regular season game for that matter. I prefer Rugby now.
I love NCAA football though. GO MIZZOU.
I think what we’ve had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a white conservative not do well.
This proves we need conservatives in the media to change this constant drumbeat against conservatives.
I have total confidence in Rush. I have no doubt he will make the most of the situation, regardless of how it unfolds. I’m not an attorney but I would think that if he plays his cards properly he has a good chance of prevailing in a court case. Of course the law is very convoluted, but all in all it’s my observation that those with the means can get redress if they choose to do so.
It would not surprise me to seem him drop it and not mention it again. He is very comfortable with himself and he knows how much better off he is than any of those who have ever gone after him.
Whatever path he decides to tread, I’m on his side.
White males have no right to live.
Yeah, but if things go bad, financially, the NFL can always count on the government to bail them out.
The hate-mongers and race-baiters did what they set out to do. Conservatives should do everything possible to repay the deed. Until we match personal destruction for personal destruction, giving better than we get, the left will not stop their predatory viciousness. Let Rush’s audience turn off football. I know he wouldn’t want that, because he loves the sport, and he is used to slanderous attacks from the left, but I’m sick of this treachery.
