Susan Collins, R-Maine, told The Associated Press that the bill approved Tuesday by the Finance Committee needs substantial improvements to make coverage more affordable, contain costs, and protect Medicare. Nevertheless, she joined her Maine GOP colleague Sen. Olympia Snowe in endorsing the goal of far-reaching changes.

One of the problems up here is that Maine has become one of the top welfare states in the country. People move to Maine to get welfare. There was a girl who was murdered in Bangor this summer. One of her accused murderer’s gave free health care as one of the reasons for why he moved here.

I have no interest in sharing a country with Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, California, Oregon or Washington any longer.

Any republican that votes for this bill or cap and trade should be REMOVED from the party and all funding and support ended the very SAME day!

At least the third leg of the triad (Arlen Specter) already changed sides.

I hate to say it, but I think you're right. Emotional feel-good ideas tend to appeal to women (and metrosexuals).

If you think of it, historically in western culture women ruled the roost of the home during the day.

Another member of the Republicrat party supports the socialist health care bill. Meanwhile fellow member Lindsey Grahamnesty supports socialist cap and tax. The party must be proud of their bipartisanship.

You're ludicrous, blanket statement isn't very interesting.

These are Vichy Republicans. They are political whores of the lowest stripe. RINO is too good a term for them. They are collaborateurs. They should have their political hair cut off for this and so many other foul deeds.

Maybe Maine would rather be part of Canada.

Hmmm...maybe we're overreacting...I thought we were supposed, according to some posters the other day, to just "line up and support whatever "Republicans" the GOP throws our way...since that's the ONLY way to stop the Democommies???

Didn't we just HAVE this conversation, RE Lindsay Grahamnesty, yesterday???

Let me repeat myself with great eloquence, since the GOP obviously isn't listening...

Over and over and over and over ad inifinituum, ad nauseaum, ad regurgitatus, ad vomitorium...

NOT VOTING FOR RINO POS.

NOT VOTING FOR RINO POS..

NOT VOTING FOR RINO POS...

Did the GOP IMMEDIATELY come down on her ass over breakign ranks??? (silence....crickets....wind sighing through the trees...someone farting under the covers...a snore or two...)

Nope. Thought not...

Every countermeasure we mount is undone by these traitorous examples of walking, talking amoebic dysentary. To my mind, they are WORSE than the Dems...they're the cowards who open the gates to the city while the population sleeps, and begs not to be slaughtered during the sacking, expecting to be rewarded instead.

And the sad, angering part to me is that they GET rewarded...over and over and over.

Its ashame that Maine is ALL liberal, where both Republicans and Democrats are equally liberal.

So it doesn't matter which party is elected, you end up with a Maine Liberal.

Let’s not forget that many fine folks live in these states, even if we are a minority...and not all of us have a financial option at the moment to just up and move, largely thanks to Obama and the Dems (and Collins and Snowe too).

Or Nancy Pelosi making Reid do it. Hillary clinton couldn’t.

I still think that more women are buying this than men. Not to start a gender bias thing, I just think women are more aware of the need for reform, and more willing to risk putting faith in the government to manage it.

I’m not so trusting in our goverment to do anything right.
