(AP) NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Republican Pat Marsh has a won a special election to fill vacated state House seat long held by Democrats.
According to unofficial results from all precincts, Marsh received 4,931 votes, or 56 percent, to Democrat Ty Cobb's 3,663 votes, or 41 percent.
The result means Republicans have expanded their narrow lead in the House to two seats.
Democrats had hoped they could reverse their recent losing streak because the seat was previously held by Cobb's brother, Curt Cobb, who resigned earlier this year to take a position with the court system.
The district represents all of Bedford County, much of Lincoln County and a small part of Rutherford County.

Better hurry up with your stupid plan to jam national health insurance down everyone’s throats (except your own), Congress. I don’t think you have much time left.
Hey, this is great news!
Pat Marsh is a friend of mine, and a genuinely great guy!
Interestingly, we all attended the church in Shelbyville also attended by a well-known former holder of this same Congressional seat, Jim Cooper, son of former Governor and Ambassador Cooper.
I guess I owe Pat an email congratulations.

Only the idiots in office haven’t figured out that We The People are going to vote RATs and RINOs out.
The California Assembly has an approval rating of 13% and falling. We The People are real serious about taking back our country.
Every little bit helps!
