Graham: GOP 'not going to be the party of angry white guys'
CNN ^ | October 13, 2009

(CNN) – South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham has always enjoyed a little back-and-forth with belligerent audiences.

He was at it again on Monday night as he faced down an angry town hall crowd in Greenville packed with libertarians and Tea Party activists who accused at the Republican senator of ditching conservative principles by working with Democrats on issues like climate change and voting to send Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court.

But Graham stressed a mantra he's repeated many times since his friend John McCain lost the presidential election last November — that the GOP must reach out to different constituencies, or face extinction.

"I'm not going to leave the Republican Party," Graham said when one questioned asked him why he hasn't yet joined the Democrats. "I'm going to grow it. We're not going to be the party of angry white guys."

His comments were met with a salvo of boos and shouts of "Ron Paul!"

He’s right, the repubs are soon gonna be a party of only three idiots: he, Olympia Snow, and McKennedy.

The rest of us are movin’ on.

They keep saying that they don’t want me. Sarah brought me back from dropping the GOP label. It sure seems there is not enough room for the GOP big-names and the Conservatives in the same party.

Graham: GOP 'not going to be the party of angry white guys'

But as long as you're still around, Ms Graham, it will continue to be the party of wussified, self important RINOs

No, he wants it to be the party of the South Carolina Weeping Pansy and his sell-out, RINO ilk. “Angry white guys” founded this country, built it to what it is today, wrote the Constitution, and kept us safe for more than 200 years. As far as I am concerned, the more angry white guys the better.

I wonder if these people in the town hall voted for him? I wish all these RINOS would just go ahead and switch parties. It’s time for the Republicans to play hardball and if it means being angry white men, then so be it. The dems are hardcore liberals that don’t back down one inch and guess what—they win elections.

Something happens to the brains of those who get into Congress, especially the Senate. Although I suspect to want to get there, let alone actually get there, you need some sort of mental quirk. It might be required, but it certainly helps.

I don’t know that anyone in Congress ever changes their mind based on input from those they are supposed to represent. They have their minds made up and spend their time trying to change the minds of the electorate.

He was just reelected last November. I hope Zero appoints him to an Ambassadorship so we can get rid of him before 2015.
