Tell that to our soldiers in Iraq and Aphganistan. Wide exposure is provided there as well. These animals care not. Sharia law is being attempted in our country already.
Well, a lot more than one of them behave as animals. If it wasn't so widespread, I might agree with you.
While I do have some reservations, like you; the law has to be enforced equally among everyone.
Now, if they have just 1 charge of abuse; that’s all the excuse I need. But, as there is nothing I have seen to indicate that this family is anything other than a peaceful family, we have to give them the benefit of the doubt.
I have known very few Muslims; however the one’s I have met have been tolerant of family members who were not either active Muslim (smoke, drank and didn’t observe practices) as well as one who had a Christian wife. Not all of them are the same; there are a FEW decent Muslims.
Yeah right. Be sure and tell that to the young lady after she is slain in an honor killing for apostacy
Unfortunately, all we hear about are the animals. It's a shame they aren't wise enough to stand up and say "These animals don't speak for me". But, judging by Farakahn and other degenerates of his ilk - the world does not get a very nice picture of Islam. Certainly, there has to be some minor redeeming feature they have to offer.
If there is, I haven't seen it.
“However, I would think that the parents of this girl will know that the eyes of the nation are on them”
Oh yeah like that’s gonna stop them. They’ll drop a radio in the tub with her and claim it was an “accident”. Muslims have no honor. They follow a lunatic.
In the case of Islam, you can as the religion is one of abject violence. To be a faithful adherent, you must subscribe to and act upon the murder and mayhem advocated by their liturgical doctrine.
What was the evidence that the parents would harm her? Was it the statements offered by the child? Was there other information that would help someone decide? Was there prior abuse or threats?
Kids declare themselves emancipated at 16, let alone 17!
This is a ridiculous ruling. The judge should find that so long as she can prove she has a place to live and means of support she is emancipated.
I wonder how close to 18 she is. If she can appeal and postpone long enough... until she is 18, she wont have to go back at all.
So they just drug her and take her back to where they came from and dispose of her there.
I'm sure that will help a lot to bring life back to her cold, dead carcass.
Well, a lot more than one of them behave as animals. If it wasn’t so widespread, I might agree with you. “
So true. I live here in Columbus near her family. I don’t know them, but considering the Mosque they attend, I have real concerns.
Speaking of “behaving as animals”...whenever I see your screen name it takes me back many years ago to when I was married to a looney toon who used to behave as such...only he was a Christian who use to tell me all the time whenever we disagreed, “I’m ALWAYS RIGHT, I’m never wrong, so just don’t think.” Ha! ;)
Unfortunately, the law is REACTIVE in nature, you do 'x' you get 'y'. The law is not (and until time travel becomes a reality)PROACTIVE, meaning "We know with absolute certainty that you will commit 'x' so we are going to avoid that sitation and punish you now.
The law doesn't work this way - you are not fined for speeding when you buy a new sports car. You have to commit the crime first.
Knowing they are being watched might also make them more likely to act, make their daughter an example for other young muslim girls who might be considering a conversion to Christianity.
So, are you saying that because what ‘MIGHT’ happen with parents that have no criminal history, that have no previous warrants, charges or so much as a parking fine - at least reported in the news - existing law should be set aside to make an exception in their case?
Who else, then in your opinion, is also entitled to excemption from the ‘Equal Protection under the Law’ clause? Can we take extraordinary actions against Jews? How about Lutherns? Can we bypass the court system and make decisions arbitrarily against Mormons? Certainly you would consider those decisions to be wrong and evil - Justice is blind.
Speaking personally, do I think she is in potential danger? Yup. But, am I willing to wad up the Constitution and throw it away based on her? No, I am not. We have to sit, wait, hope and pray. Unless you want to dismantle the Constitution and impose a new type of law system that grants ‘special consideration’ for select groups - we have no choice.
That's a long way off.
Another thing I've been thinking about, after watching Fox News coverage of this case yesterday, is that she is not a citizen of the US. If the family gets the OH courts to order her back into the home, they can take her back to their home country and carry out their honor murder there.
I hope the father doesn't turn out to be the murderer that Rifka thinks he is.
Man, what got your knickers in a knot.
For the record - please cite for us how many Jews, Lutherans, or Mormons have murdered their daughters because they converted to another religion.
And the constitution does protect life. So if this girl’s life is in danger, we should just ignore it. Your argument makes no sense, the girls has rights, her parents have rights, but not the right to murder their child (at least AFTER the kid is born),
Please cite any evidence you have that the girl’s life is in danger from her parents. What have the parents said, or did that would lead you to believe that they will kill her? Are there any outstanding warrents? Evidence of physical abuse to any other family member? Cops called to their home over domestic disputes? Parking tickets? Littering?
You are inferring (and perhaps correctly) that she feels threatened because of something they said to her; but the court has to act on evidence, not supposition.
The court’s hands are tied in this matter. If there is no verifiable threat, the court has no choice. What gets my knickers in a knot is people who are willing to abandon our court system based upon ONE possible example where the system fails, yet ignore the hundreds of millions of times it has worked.
We have laws, we execute the laws. If the laws are bad, we change them - but we don’t react willy-nilly to every situation that comes along like a pre-teen girl. That path does not lead anywhere we want to be.
