The N.F.L. has a policy for just about everything. Tucking in shirts. Use of cellphones or felt pens in celebration of self. Smarting off at inappropriate moments. Wipe that smirk off your face, mister, youre not in junior high school anymore. And thats just for owners.
So it is no surprise that the N.F.L. also has a written policy governing the acceptance and let us hope rejection of potential owners. The current club owners seem to have the power to turn down somebody just because they dont like the cut of his jib, whatever a jib is.
This is reassuring given the recent announcement by Rush Limbaugh, a chap who talks on the radio, that he is interested in buying into the St. Louis Rams. Limbaugh is seeking a partnership with Dave Checketts, who has hitherto amassed a good reputation in New York, Salt Lake City and St. Louis.
When observed recently, Limbaugh was braying with glee because the American city of Chicago had been turned down in its bid to host the 2016 Olympic Games. His vicious delight had nothing to do with the dubious economics of holding the Olympics or the mixed support from the citizens of Chicago. He depicted the decision as a defeat for President Obama, who had traveled to Copenhagen to stick up for his adopted home city.
This just in: occasionally, the St. Louis Rams play the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Presumably, Bears fans would remember Limbaughs double chins quivering with joy at the rejection of the Olympic bid. This is just the kind of divisive baggage the N.F.L. would love to see in a potential owner.
But Limbaugh comes with other weighty history. This is the bloke who,

Thanks for the pep talk. You would make a good motivational speaker :)
“Do North Koreans hate their mothers?”
Actually, it is standard operating procedure for Communist governments to at least attempt to sever children from their parents and make them wards of the party. Not that they ever completely succeed in destroying the traditional cutlutre, which is stronger than them.
Are you the posting police?
I’m glad he posted it as it gives us more insight into the liberal’s mindset; although we already know all the plays in their game book.
Looking at that bright red nose of his one might wonder if this schmuck is a fall down drunk.
Here we go. Whenever the left takes control of a society, one of the first things to happen is the ritual elimination of residents deemed not worthy of existing. Of course, the expression of how that happens often is determined by the culture, so I don’t expect camps or gulags or soldiers lined up next to trenches filled with corpses. What I do expect is a systematic destruction of reputation and livelihood based on smear and media lies - and at the end of it all, the American left will congratulate themselves by saying that Limbaugh still has his house and car, and think to themselves that at least he still has his life.
I understand that Limbaugh is filthy rich. I would love to see him start filing lawsuit after lawsuit for libel - and even though he’s a public figure, I don’t think proving malice would be all that difficult.
The end of the road that the left is taking us is dark indeed. We’re coming to the climax of their efforts. God help us.
So here’s another left-winged egghead, relying on the accuracy of a Wikipedia article.
I find it’s meathead’s like Keith Olberman that prevent me from watching Football In America on NBC right before SNF. I will continue to watch football. For me, football is the great escape from all things politics, but it seems politics is beginning to infest my refuge from O-bot insanity.
There are thousands of citizens of Illinois who were even more delighted than Rush that the IOC saw fit to award events to Rio.
Chicago cannot provide a crime free venue.
Why does Vecsey, a lifelong New Yawker, use so much British slang in his hatchet job?
It doesn’t add any gravitas to your prose, let alone your argument, George.
Did Rush have a dog-fighting business? Did he kill dogs?
I've gotta respect a Bills fan. I've never seen a team break hearts like the Bills. Everybody expects the Lions and Rams to be bad, but the Bills always flirt with victory, only to have it come crashing down. Besides, I respect ANYBODY who'll go to a game in that weather.
but seriously, how can this douchebag [apologies to vinegar/water containers in general]be expected to dgoogle search when he has a 'story' to create...???
