NYT: 32 Voices Louder Than Limbaugh’s (It's obvious that Rush is a hayseed racist)
The New York Times ^ | October 13, 2009 | GEORGE VECSEY

Posted on 10/13/2009 9:32:09 AM PDT by presidio9

The N.F.L. has a policy for just about everything. Tucking in shirts. Use of cellphones or felt pens in celebration of self. Smarting off at inappropriate moments. Wipe that smirk off your face, mister, you’re not in junior high school anymore. And that’s just for owners.

So it is no surprise that the N.F.L. also has a written policy governing the acceptance — and let us hope rejection — of potential owners. The current club owners seem to have the power to turn down somebody just because they don’t like the cut of his jib, whatever a jib is.

This is reassuring given the recent announcement by Rush Limbaugh, a chap who talks on the radio, that he is interested in buying into the St. Louis Rams. Limbaugh is seeking a partnership with Dave Checketts, who has hitherto amassed a good reputation in New York, Salt Lake City and St. Louis.

When observed recently, Limbaugh was braying with glee because the American city of Chicago had been turned down in its bid to host the 2016 Olympic Games. His vicious delight had nothing to do with the dubious economics of holding the Olympics or the mixed support from the citizens of Chicago. He depicted the decision as a defeat for President Obama, who had traveled to Copenhagen to stick up for his adopted home city.

This just in: occasionally, the St. Louis Rams play the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Presumably, Bears’ fans would remember Limbaugh’s double chins quivering with joy at the rejection of the Olympic bid. This is just the kind of divisive baggage the N.F.L. would love to see in a potential owner.

But Limbaugh comes with other weighty history. This is the bloke who,

ESPN got clicked off last night because they felt the need to foist that usurper on us before the game. Never watched a damn minute of it. Would have, but we were repulsed.

Keep it up sportsObozo shills. I guess you will make football a past past time.

If I had the financial means that Rush has, thats exactly where I would disappear to.

So clearly, this is an obscure loose sphincter that happens to be spouting the drivel that the editor wants to put on top. Now even the sports page can’t help them with a positive revenue stream.

I don’t watch the NFL OR the NBA. Too many people acting like the n-word.

It’s so cute that the New York Times still thinks they’re a good journalist outlet.

I'll leave your visual of "nude pictures of Limbaugh" alone and remark that I always thought Vecsey looked like an Amish version of Roman Polanski ("I did not have vicious carnal relations with your 13 year-old daughter english. We were at a barn-raising and things got out of hand...")

I clicked it off when they had a sound byte from Mark Sanchez that started with "In the Latino culture, family is very important..."

Nothing against Mark Sanchez, who seems like a very nice man in general. And nothing against Latinos in general. But I am sick and tired of the liberal media's obsession with portraying every racial and cultural group as different and special and needing to be isolated all the time. For the love of God, can somebody name for me a single group that does not value "family?" Do North Koreans hate their mothers? I am conviced that this multicultural celebration nonsense is a big reason why Latinos get to this country and do not attempt to learn the language (I was shocked to discover the other night that Vladimir Gurrero speaks no English).

I am actually in the minority among FReepers, in that I don't have a major problem with immigration. But I think that how we are going about it is all wrong, and (no suprise) I blame liberal degradation of our cultural values for it.

One has to wonder how liberals can push for “fat acceptance” in one breath, then ridicule Rush’s appearance the next.

Just a heads up, not a lecture:

I understand the point you are trying to make, but you signed up for an account less than a week ago, and here you are calling people niggers in defense of Rush Limbaugh. It makes you look like a troll.

I think the NFL should step VERY carefully on this one. The bulk of their fans are in no mood....

Actually, "fat acceptance" has always been a key plank in the liberal platform.

Fortunately for all of us, the soldiers at Normandy were made with a better grade of steel in their backbones.

Buck up, this isn't even close to over. Just watch, the next three years will be the most exciting times conservatives have EVER seen. You wouldn't want to watch it from new Zealand when you can be part of it.

Let’s face it, when you don’t like someone, no matter what you are politically, you look for things in their appearance to make fun of, or if that doesn’t work, call them stupid.

Thing is, Rush hasn’t been obese for almost 10 years.

Frankly, I'm growing weary of watching a bunch of thugs play the game

I've been a Cowboys fan since the Landry days. And Tom Landry's persona was a large part of me being a fan. Always wore a suit and tie on the sidelines, was always a gentleman. And he won, a lot.

But the game has passed me by. Thugs is right.

“just because they don’t like the cut of his jib, whatever a jib is”

It’s a sail, you retard.

Seems people are more interested in being snarky than doing a simple Google search.

Wouldn’t Bears fans tend to hate the opposition anyway? Evenj if it’s all pretend. Isn’t that the way it’s supposed to work?
