No. We do excommunicate members who commit serious sins and remain unrepentant. But we do not avoid association with excommunicated persons unless they are a danger. They are invited to attend meetings, but are not asked to speak or teach, pay tithing, or hold a position in the Church.
Obviously, being a slimy politician is not an offense requiring excommunication.
Sometimes, they just change your name to “Jack” when they talk about you.
Jack Mormons are not unlike jackasses, from what I hear.
