The swastika shows up in a number of Amer-Indian locations.

Until 1940, the Swastika was on the (left) shoulder patch of the New Mexico National Guard. Red on a yellow background if the memory cells are correct. That was the original insignia of the (my Dad was one) 45th Infantry Division. The insignia was changed to the "Thunderbird" because of its closeness to the swastika. Dad was a radioman and always had an Indian with him to talk. THEY were the first code talkers.
