Hey — I saw that! I was driving down River Road and saw about 100 people standing on the levee, so I parked my car and got to the top of the levee just in time to see it pass by! Really cool.
In Houston they laugh about how it was “nothing”. For here maybe. It hit east pretty bad and went all the way up to Northwest Ohio where it caused horrible flooding.
The Obozo is afraid of hard work. He’s always out flying around on AF1, making “let me be clear” campaign speeches.
Let’s not forget Katrina devastated the Mississippi Gulf Coast as well. And how about the rest of Louisiana that suffered the effects of Katrina and/or Rita?
But no, Mr. Nobel Peace Prize wouldn’t have the big propaganda coup as he would with New Orleans, with a low-class, welfare-dependent black populace (i.e., ACORN’s dream constituency).
If he acknowledges that other regions got hit worse by the storm, he’d have to examine why they were able to recover while New Orleans was not.
You’re telling me. A little over 4 years have passed since Katrina, and the local media in New Orleans still report on “signs of recovery”.
OK, let me tell you the truth. There is no Louisiana - no New Orleans - its a figment of my imagination. There is only the 9th Ward. Only the 9th Ward experienced Katrina and the aftermath thereof. Only the 9th Ward exists. I declare the United Kingdom of the 9th Ward. I am denouncing, my home, Metairie, Louisiana and I will forever fly the flag of the United Kingdom of the 9th Ward - where woes will always be, I can pillage (but only during hurricanes), I whine until I get what is due to me by the other government (the United States) and I get photo opts from all major news media known to man. OK as you can tell, I am sick of the 9th ward!!!!!!! as a whole - I know there are good people there too but enough is enough. If my attitude sucks - sue me. :)
Why bring Larry Sinclair into this?
Do you recall that, at times, the media make reference to the “historic” 9th Ward? Somebody tell me what’s so historic about it!
True.
It’s the only place he and Reggie can be alone.
New Orleans aka “Mogadishu on The Mississippi”
At least the school should be safe for a few hours.
