Out of the hundreds of people at my company, I can count the number of gays that I work with on two hands. They're in their jobs because they're competent workers, not because they're gay.

And I'd not characterize any of them as "activists".

I'm thinking that "Gay" and "Activist" are the two qualifiers that BO was looking for. "Competency" might not have even made the top 20.
