Democrat Creigh Deeds is not backing off negative campaign ads against Republican Bob McDonnell, at least in the Northern Virginia area.
The campaign this morning releases a new spot already airing in the Washington area, which attacks McDonnell's claim, featured on many campaign signs, that he is "Fairfax's Own" because of his Northern Virginia childhood.
"Bob McDonnell says he's from Fairfax County," the narrator says. "But that was before he attended Pat Robertson's law school. And served on its board." Before, the narrator continues, he wrote that working women are detrimental to the family, he introduced 35 bills on abortion or voted against equal pay for women.
"So no matter what McDonnell claims, all signs say he's not from around here...anymore," it concludes....
It should be noted though that there there are plenty of negative ads being run by Republicans as well. Just this weekend, it appears the Republican Governors Association introduced a new version of its ads featuring footage of Deeds' weak performance answering reporters' questions about taxes after the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce debate last month. "Deeds Flips...Deeds Flops" the ad says.

Deeds just keeps digging ...
his own grave, just deeper and deeper.
I’m waiting for Deeds to claim that McDonnell’s “appeared snub” of Palin is proof that he disrespects women.
This may be deeds’ ace in his hole, so to speak, the Pat Robertson connection. He may have been keeping this back to play near the end. But, again, he pulled it out too early. Another yawn.
Look at what the Compost is doing here, they are repeating a Deeds ad in the newspaper, basically to get Deeds free advertising space in the Compost. They are hoping to turn women against McDonnell.
It's transparent as to what they are doing. I just don't understand how they keep getting away with stuff like this.
Deeds is losing his own NoVa base.
The mason dixon poll says Deeds has a single digit lead in NoVa. Deeds is losing in SW Va, his home region.
Fairfax County, like too much of Virginia, is suffering the neglect of Democrat administration after Democrat administration in Richmond. The roads are parking lots (just look at I-66), crime is increasing, schools are falling apart, pot holes are everywhere, etc. etc.
After eight years of Democrats in the Governor’s office, it is time for new leadership in Richmond. Bob McDonnell will bring the leadership that NoVA, Southside, Southwest, Tidewater, and the Shenandoah Valley needs in their Virginia government.
And, as Deeds keeps company with the leftist Obama supporters in the Democrat party, he can claim he’s from Bath County, but he’s not. He’s the dirty spawn of massive government spending, high taxing, big brother nanny satists in Richmond.
VA Ping
Nearly all summer Deeds has been running against Bush or Robertson as opposed to McDonnell, or at least that is how I have interpreted the ads and Deeds supporting comments in various online forums.
It was only a month ago that the ComPost was smacked-down by the Weekly Standard:
Exactly right, it's like he's afraid of a face to face comparision. Weirder still is that he keeps replacing himself with Mark Warner! He's trying to create a Warner v Bush scenario and thinks that 'll work for him. It's pathetic really.
Not just pathetic, I’ve found it truly bizarre and downright weird.
Deeds has some BAD advisors, it’s becoming quite apparent. It’s bordering on the pathetic now.
“This may be deeds ace in his hole, so to speak, the Pat Robertson connection. He may have been keeping this back to play near the end. But, again, he pulled it out too early. Another yawn.”
He already brought up the Robertson connection weeks ago. It just isn’t playing.. then or now. VA voters aren’t buying the dems’ BS lines now.
Are you kidding? They’ve been trying to saddle Bob McDonnell with being “Pat’s boy” for 20 years.
Creigh Deeds is a slimeball.
No ...
That’s an insult to slime.
Creigh Deeds is more repugnant than the contents of my septic tank.
