To be fair, Rush was wrong about McNabb. I understood his point at the time, but McNabb, when healthy, is one heck of a QB. Plenty of white QBs have failed to win the big game, or were caried by their D.
When Isaiah Thomas made similar comments about Larry Bird back in 1987, it did not cost him his job, he was allowed to go on and win championships with the Pistons, continue to a head coaching position with the Knicks. One more demonstration about how racism only goes one way with these people.
I think that Rush was making more of a point that the Liberal Media was projecting super stardom on McNabb because of his color. Although I think that McNabb is one of the better qbs, until he wins the big one, he is not the same caliber as Rothlesberger, Manning(s) or Brady. Neither is Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, Tony Romo until they win the big one.
At the time of Limbaugh’s comments, McNabb was the lowest rated QB in the league at that point in the season. It doesn’t matter because his comments were about the media and how they covered McNabb, not his play on the field.
So to be fair you are wrong.
Sorry, Rush was right about McNabb. When was the last time you heard any NFL pundit go off on McNabb, particularly his inability to win the big game? McNabb is untouchable, even more so now since Rush’s comments were blown way out of proportion.
