Pyongyang launched modified Scuds, Nodongs, and a Taepodong missile (long range) all in a volley of fire throughout the day on 4th of July US time during the W Administration because of his change of policy from one of hardline (primarily first term) to that of appeasement (highly representative of his second term and also the post 2006 elections), under the direction of Condi Rice and Chris Hill at State Department, and under the panoply of the so-called “Six Party Talks”. Kim Jong il did it because he knew they could get away with it and wanted more concessions—which they got. They would not have dared tried in the 2002 or 2003 time frame particularly I will grant.

I don’t get it. Other than depleting his inventory, what does this buy L’il Kim? Or is his fleet trying a new twist on the old fishing-with-dynamite approach?

God, now I remember!

It was a low day for foreign policy indeed. W seemed confused and unfocused and Kim pushed his advantage.

We appeased and got nothing but a few years of queitude — but now we have someone born to appease and weaker than W.

Kim Jung Ill wants to take advantage of the bowing and scraping at the feet of Iran — and wisely so.

Not good, not good at all.

Thanks for refreshing my memory. It is the first thing to go, ya know.
