re: difference between the Taliban and Al Qaeda

I have had a question about that, and since you bring it up let me glom onto your post and ask for help and info.

I have not taken the time to learn the main differences, let alone the nuances, between the Taliban and the AQ movements. I tried once, but it was just too confusing.

Obama has let the drone attacks on terrorists in some areas not only continue, but apparently increase in both frequency and the value of targets.

Let me be frank, I am convinced Obama is Muslim at heart. Any claims to being a Christian are simply the lies that Muslims feel their holy book requires them to tell if it will further the Muslim cause. On the surface it would appear his approval of attacks on these terrorists would fly in the face of reason if he is indeed Muslim at heart. Sort of a cognitive dissonance thing, your heart tells you one thing but your eyes report something else.

But then it occurs to me that the Muslim faith is anything but one big happy family, all pursuing the same end. There is a lot, a whole lot, of friction between the various sects of the ROP. So much so that given the choice of killing and American or another Muslim who is felt to be an apostate they would kill the fellow Muslim. Is it possible that the attacks Obama is allowing to happen are on those of a sect that is different from the sect to whom his heart belongs?

They say not, but even casual observation tells me that there's no such thing as “just a Muslim.” The divisions among them are more deadly than those within the Christian faith. Could it be that Obama is using the power of his office to support his particular brand of Islam to the detriment of those who are beholden to another sect?

Or do I just need to replace the aluminum foil in my hat? It's been a couple of years and Lord knows it been under constant attack by conspiracies of all kinds. Maybe I need to send it in for refurbishing, or even consider a newer model.
