re: *ANY* redeeming values in islam???

In a perverse way, yes. I admire their devotion to whatever form of Islam they embrace. Even if it were an accepted Christian principle I don't think I could offer up my child as a suicide bomber. I am so thankful that I worship and serve a loving God who does not need my pitiful efforts to work His will on Earth. If I see something I think is wrong I can go to Him in prayer, one-on-one, and if it needs changing He will see to it, on HIS timetable. That does not mean that I don't support wholeheartedly the mission of the USA to support and defend freedom around the world. But I don't think God intends for me to personally launch a one-man program of violence against someone or something I think is wrong. There's a big difference!
