If President Obama wishes to be seen as a serious world leader, he should decline the Nobel Peace Prize. Doing so would be, in fact, the most honorable thing for him to do.
A very simple expression of gratitude for being considered would be appropriate. And a courageous footnote of honesty, by simply stating that because he had been in office for only twelve days at the time of the nomination, he had done nothing to deserve it, and that he would not feel at ease accepting the prize, would be refreshing.

The Messiah and Presidium Director, Party Chairman, and Chief Bottle Washer, his holiness Comrade Barack al Hussein Obamskyiev merely expects, at this point, to win MORE Nobel peace prizes, maybe three or four or, really, why not ALL of them. After all, he got C’s in college.
He’s incapable of declining the award. His entire existence is based on one simple axiom: “It’s all about me.”
He shouldn’t decline the award. Obama should accept every undeserved award given to him, completely making an ass of himself for all to see. Congress should pass a bill reserving Washington’s crypt for Obama, and replace Washington’s image in the Apotheosis with that of Zero. After all, Obama is a messianic type of little god, resurrecting America from the ashes of Capitalism, and leading us to the great, commie utopia. Instead of surrounding Obama with maidens, he could be depicted as the groom of hermaphrodites, signifying the new age that worships him.
Oh he will be there, allright, and his 200 person entourage, in spanking new mourning clothes and that jaw smuggly held up on a 20+ degree angle from the horizon.
Which leads us to another issue about the funk dancing in this nasty man's brain.
The question is not "if" but "when" and "how" this buzzard tries to pull a Mel Zelaya on the People of the USA and their Constitution.
The correct thing would be a beautiful speech from TOTUS that, “While I am flattered to have been offered such a prestigious award, the other nominees are so much more qualified than I am at this point in my presidency that I must decline. I will remember this generous offer and use that memory to keep myself motivated to rise to such a level in my work over the next few years that I will deserve this honor should the committee ever again consider me for this award. Now I have to get back to my real work - redistributing the wealth from those who created that wealth to those who voted for me.”
Kevin has already explained why Bammy WON'T decline the award. He's already promised to go and has offered the "prize money" to a charity (most likely ACORN!).

+1.5 million dollars. That is hard to turn down, especially when you can donate it to charity and look like a giving person. I’ll bet it is the only money he’s ever given away.

Exactly. Sounds like you see this whole situation the same way I do (and many others of course). And after a few generations of revisionism and brainwashing of the sheeple, all negative aspects of Zero, his actions, and his commie cohorts, will be forgotten.

He could also say that he does not want an award that was given to a violent criminal and terrorist, Yasser Arafat.
