If Columbus had not discovered the new World it would have been found by the Portuguese a few years later. It was going to be found!
If the Indians had made a voyage of discovery East they may have found Europe and still contracted the diseases for which they had no immunity. it is not the Europeans fault that they were not immune to disease.
