Jim DeMint -What I Heard in Honduras
WSJ ^ | October 10, 2009 | Jim DeMint

Posted on 10/09/2009 6:57:13 PM PDT by opentalk

After visiting Tegucigalpa last week and meeting with a cross section of leaders from Honduras's government, business community, and civil society, I can report there is no chaos there. There is, however, chaos to spare in the Obama administration's policy toward our poor and loyal allies in Honduras. In a day packed with meetings, we met only one person in Honduras who opposed Mr. Zelaya's ouster, who wishes his return, and who mystifyingly rejects the legitimacy of the November elections: U.S. Ambassador Hugo Llorens.

Agreed. scathing coming on the heels of yesterday’s comical events. DeMint is spot on, and it is hilarious (but sad) that HONDURAS is making an example of BO!

Excellent report by Sen Demint. From the article:

As all strong democracies do after cleansing themselves of usurpers, Honduras has moved on.

Looking forward to that day in America! :-)

"Hondurans are therefore left scratching their heads. They know why Hugo Chávez, Daniel Ortega and the Castro brothers oppose free elections and the removal of would-be dictators, but they can't understand why the Obama administration does."

Well, I certainly hope Demint explained it to them.
It is quite simple really, for anyone that does not have their head up their a buried in the sand.

We MUST correctly identify these "people" for what they really are

Then quit referring to them as Socialists and Marxists!

Socialism no longer carries the stigma it once did and 80-85% of the population have no idea what a Marxist or Marxism means.

A few more have heard of Karl Marx, but know little about him. (Do your own survey...very enlightening)

They are COMMUNISTS with a lot of Facism thrown in for good measure.

why aren't people suing on grounds of constitutionality??
But why aren' people lined up at the Supreme Court?!

Both very good questions!
There are some brave folks that have been lined up at SCOTUS. They too have proven to be traitors.

BO SCOTUS

Kind of makes one wonder what Obama has in mind if he loses the next election or his two terms are up.

Wonder no more ... KNOW!

So ESPN’s Bob Ley thinks he’s Peter Jennings, reporting on the eve of the USA/HONDURAS soccer match in San Pedro Sula......The coup, which has repressed civil liberties........

Really Einstein? Ask someone who isn’t hand picked for you if that’s the case!!

"Peace" to the commies is a one world communist government.

I believe it was Karl Marx who said;
“Peace is the absence of opposition to communism”

People of Honduras Fight for Freedom!

It appears they are more willing to fight for it than their counterparts here in the USA.

DeMint traveled to Tegucigalpa where he met with people hand-picked by Micheletti and company. To DeMint’s small credit, he did talk to one person who opposed the coup — Hugh Llorens, our ambassador. But by then ridiculing Llorens in the posted article, DeMint damaged his political future.

I've been hearing a lot about the politicization of ESPN lately. Glad I'm no longer into sports. WTH.

Socialists/communists ALWAYS lie and fight dirty to accomplish their goals. Conservatives need to start taking a real gun to the gun fight and leave behind their squirt guns...so to speak.

Here's a link to an article "Sarah Palin is NOT Fading Away".

http://weekendpundit.org/2009/10/sarah-plain-is-not-fading-away.html

Embedded is a PJTV video op-ed created shortly after Sarah resigned; however, it spends more time on the dishonesty and immorality of the 'rat party & how they always fight dirty. The Alinsky-Marxist movement is totally immoral and use lies & corruption to achieve their goal - the overthrow of America.

His closing comment is (paraphrasing) conservatives need to start fighting dirty because it is now a life or death situation.

Yes, I know. My reason for pinging you was that my post referred back to yours. And yes...we agree! Which is what I've been saying nearly the entire time I've been on FR.

Yesterday's Wall Street Journal had an interesting article by Lanny Davis, former Clinton pitchman and now a lobbyist for a pro-Micheletti Honduran business group.

The (short) article was in two parts. In the first, Davis discussed the diplomatic efforts to date; he presented both sides' positions fairly.

In the second part, Davis outlined a proposal being kicked around by a group of political and business leaders. In it, they propose giving everyone involved amnesty, meaning Zelaya, the military, Micheletti, the National Congress, the Attorney General, and the Supreme Court.

That will be the eventual solution of this mess -- blanket immunity.
