How can a sitting President receive cash from anyone and then exercise control over it?
What an easy way to hide a BRIBE.

If he flies AF1 to Norway at taxpayer expense to accept the prize, then it will be our money.

How bout he keeps the 1.4 million . . . and our children keep the trillion he’s stealing from them.
To: BenLurkin
I think he’d be an embarrassment if he dared keep it. He’s probably already got all the money he’s going to need for the rest of his life. He’s set up for life.

If he takes the money and then donates — doesn’t he have to pay taxes on it?

Just an announcement to make him seem nice.
If I remember correctly he can NOT accept the cash legally
So the press makes him seem like something special.

In the basement of the Ronald Reagan library is a literal treasure trove of gifts that the President received while in office — he could not keep ANY of them.

I have been intending to do great things with 1.4 million dollars for most of my life. To honor the thought process behind his selection, he should give it to me.
