I have a friend who is very anti-guns. She lives with her useless adult son, who is afraid of guns, in a not-so-nice neighborhood.
Last week, there was some kind of an argument going on a few houses away. There was shooting and a bullet went through her living room window and lodged in a door frame. By the way, she was in the room at the time.
I’ve been telling her to get a gun, but she refuses. She thinks that if she only talks nice to these people, all will be well. She also wrote a letter to the police chief complaining about the shooting and went around the neighborhood collecting signatures. Now the thugs know who complained.
I’m afraid for her safety. She and her son are just sitting ducks.
I suggest you buy some life insurance on her, with you as the beneficiary. Then make sure she knows about it.
Tell her that someone should benefit from her stupidity.
History unfortunately indicates that you can’t fix stupid.
