Barack Obama: Taleban can be involved in Afghanistan future
Times Online ^ | 10/08/2009 | Tim Reid in Washington

President Obama is prepared to accept some Taleban involvement in Afghanistan’s political future and is unlikely to favour a large influx of new US troops being demanded by his ground commander, a senior official said tonight.

Mr Obama appears to have been swayed in recent days by arguments from some advisers, led by Vice-President Joe Biden, that the Taleban do not pose a direct threat to the US and that there should be greater focus on tackling al-Qaeda inside Pakistan.

“You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor and you will have war.” — Churchill’s remark after Chamberlain returned from signing the Munich Pact with Hitler

wow. this is really hard for me to understand the whole situation, but when you read about what the taliban is - I just can’t understand how anyone can say they can be part of a government. As a civilized PERSON how can you say that?!

Prayers?

You got it.

And thank you for serving your country. Even if a muzzie sympathizer is in charge.

” n a sign of how politically astute the Taleban has become in deciphering the debate raging inside the White House,
the insurgents issued a statement on their website declaring that they have “no agenda to harm other countries.”

No, just Americans.
Preferably those in uniform.
What’s next for Barry?
Bringing Saddam Hussein’s daughter Raghad , back from exile in Jordan,
to rule Iraq ?
All we ever heard from this guy before he became CINC was Tollybon Tollybon.

First Presidential Debate 2008

LEHRER: .....Do you think more troops — more U.S. troops should be sent to Afghanistan, how many, and when?

OBAMA: Yes, I think we need more troops. I’ve been saying that for over a year now.

And I think that we have to do it as quickly as possible,
because it’s been acknowledged by the commanders on the ground the situation
is getting worse, not better.

We had the highest fatalities among U.S. troops this past year than at any time since 2002. ( well, except for 2009 ..)
And we are seeing a major offensive taking place —
al Qaeda and Taliban crossing the border and attacking our troops in a brazen fashion.
They are feeling emboldened.

They must be positively euphoric now that Barry has elevated and legitimized them.
And is now rewarding them.

Obama merely sees them as another “Community Organizer” group.

I’ve heard all these arguments before. It was called Vietnam. But hey, that turned out okay, didn’t it? Just ask the Left and the draft dodgers.

I prefer Neville Chamberlain to Biden. Chamberlain tried appeasement before the war started. Biden wants to try it eight years after the war started.

Lets just pull the troops out and leave a big sign of Roseanna Roseannadanna saying “NEVERMIND”

This is just a disgrace. An absolute disgrace.

When they have daily Stadium executions for a woman being out of the house without a male relative chaperone or wearing make-up under her burkha... maybe just maybe someone will figure the US abandoned them wrongly?

Meanwhile this will be hailed as a great victory for Obama, as mass murder by the Taliban is taking place.

The aim is not to impose a democracy but a central government. The Taliban is strong only in an area that includes 40% of the total government, but that spills over in Pakistan.

The Taliban is nothing more than the political muscle behind Al Quaeda. Both are one and the same, IMO.
