ormer San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown is lambasting what he calls "highly inappropriate" behavior by San Francisco Democrats Wednesday who greeted Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger with a hostile reception during a surprise drop-in at a San Francisco Democratic Party fund-raiser.
But outspoken State Assemblyman Tom Ammiano of San Francisco, who shouted "You lie!" to Schwarzenneger during the event at the Fairmont Hotel -- and didn't deny reports he walked out with a quip of "kiss my gay ass" -- said the GOP governor's "cheap publicity stunt" earned a very appropriate show of political theater, San Francisco-style.
Schwarzenegger, in a statement this morning, aimed to laugh it all off, saying of his SF Democratic reception that "compared to the reaction I got in Hyannis Port when I told the Kennedys I was marrying Maria, it was fantastic."
An entertaining eyewitness account comes from Brian Luebitz and his crew at Calitics, who were there to celebrate with the Dems -- and who had the fascinating blow by blow today, complete with cell phone photos.
Here's the back story from some of the insiders: "Before (Schwarzenegger) showed up, people were talking about how unfortunate it was the Governor...was so missing in action on issues so important to San Francisco," Ammiano told us this morning. "Then I noticed the dye job out of the corner of my eye.''
Ouch.
Ammiano: "This isn't a chamber where someone suffers through. This is our house -- and it's like someone came in and took a big dump. He showed up; it was rude, he got up there and it felt to us that he was trivializing all the issues we care about.
...And that "kiss my gay ass" comment?
"That I don't really remember," laughed Ammiano, "but I've said that before...and if it was attributed to me..."

Girly-man slaps back, . . .
Reminds me of what O’Reilly does to BHO.
So... his complaint is that state workers have had their income cut with furloughs. In other words, despite the fact that private sector workers have seen their wages and employment drop dramatically, they should also be forced to pay higher taxes so that government workers can continue to enjoy their cushy jobs. Right.
Did he say “Kick my gay ass!”?
Arnold is an anachronism in the post modern world. Girly men run affairs today. This article is the face of doom.
That’s right. Arnold’s SUCH a big right-winger.
/sarc
To which I would say-—”I would’ve, but who knows where that ass has been.”
Blow? can't make it up.
why did arnold go?
why don’t these girly, “kiss my gay ass” men support their gay bethren in islamic nations.?
Ammiano is so flamboyantly and obnoxiously homosexual, he makes Bawney Fwank look like he’s still in the closet by comparison. And that’s saying a lot.
So why does that make it an anachronism?? He's the biggest political sissie I have ever witnessed in my 20 years in the business and he's bar-none the most liberal person to ever allege association with the Republican Party. Frankly, I don't understand why he isn't cheered in the streets in San Francisco. He's the person who has single handedly done more damage to the Republican Party than anyone since John Wilkes Booth.
Agreed. Arnie probably would kiss his gay *ss if it was politically convenient. He’s certainly pretty busy kissing Obama’s.
“Thats right. Arnolds SUCH a big right-winger. /s”
Sadly, he is to these ozone sniffers.
Sounds like a threat.
It wasn’t an insult, it was an act of workplace sexual harassment.
The Governator should file a complaint.
We the people are out here starving; and the Democrat politicians are gaying it up at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.
No need for Ammiano to make his wishful thinking public!
I stopped reading my stomach couldn't take it
Imagine that, another anti-American leftist faggot working against the country. Shocker.
