Read the Supreme Court Elgg ruling. Legally, natural born US citizens can be dual citizens. Its not a contradiction.
Elg’s father was a naturalized citizen and her mother was also a citizen by the current laws in America at the time Elg was born. She was born to two American citizen parents.
