Former House majority leader Tom Delay, who last night dropped out of ABC's "Dancing With The Stars," has once again expressed skepticism that President Obama is a citizen of the United States.
That aligns DeLay, a Republican once known as "The Hammer," with the so-called "birther" movement. The birthers' claims have repeatedly been shown to be illegitimate.
Newsweek noted in an interview with DeLay that he "got into some trouble for saying on TV that you weren't sure President Obama was born in the United States."
"What I said was, to answer a question from Chris Matthews, I said: Why wouldn't the president of the United States show the American people his birth certificate?," DeLay responded. "You have to show a birth certificate to play Little League baseball. It's a question that should be answered. It's in the Constitution that you have to be a natural-born citizen of the United States to be president."
Asked Newsweek: "Do you think he isn't a citizen?"
"I have no idea," said DeLay.

for that statement to be correct (chasing windmills), she would have to be ineffective.
the recent court ruling, says your incorrect on her goals, and not very good a judge of character and intelligence if you think she is an idiot.
Remember, when you point a finger at someone, one points to that person, and three point at you...
Ah, argument by cliche. The best kind!
Thomas Dale DeLay (born April 8, 1947) in Laredo, Texas is a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives who represented Sugar Land, Texas from 1984 until 2006. He was Republican House Majority Leader from 20032005, when his legal problems forced him to step down. In 2005, a Texas court charged DeLay with criminal violations of state campaign finance laws and money laundering. DeLay pled not guilty, claiming political motivation for the charges. As of October 2009, the prosecutor has yet to bring the case before a jury. Two former senior aides to DeLay have been convicted in the Jack Abramoff scandal, and though the infamous lobbyist was closely associated with DeLay, the former congressman himself has not been legally implicated at this time.
Anyhow, that’s what the birther skeptics are saying. She’s not typical of conservatives, who mostly are taking a pragmatic view that Obama has to go out like he went in.
The order for discovery by Judge Cook, allows the council on both sides to find out the facts that Obama sealed.
Your partially right, we don’t know, but our hands were tied, now we can find out.
I suspect, as many do, that he has withheld this information for good reason. What that reason is, will be determined when we get the information and it is examined.
Wait and see is the watchword.
a trite or obvious remark?
I presume that the body of my text was not refuted, and your only comment is on finger pointing, hardly obvious to most, and certainly not trite. Right on, I would say..
Thanks. You’ve followed it more closely than I have. I have no doubt that there is something there to find: Obama is trying to darn hide to hide his past. Any reasonable person ought to be trying to see what’s behind the curtain.
“overwhelming evidence to the contrary”
Like beauty, whether the evidence is “overwhelming” is in the eye of the beholder:

I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barrack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008, over eight months ago.

“This mendacious paragraph” ... um, if you are going to use that term, better not to call someone who’s been verified to be a citizen an ‘illegal alien’ in that same paragraph.

“Willfully misunderstanding the issue. His citizenship is not the issue.”
You might need to correct the birthers on this thread who seem to think that it is.
They seem to forget that Obama managed to get passports years ago.
Why?
“Why, I thought he was in prison somewhere for crimes against humanity or some such. I recall he was ceremoniously removed from CONgre$$ as the most corrupt being on the face of the planet.”
He was subject to a partisan witchhunt indictment by a Democrat DA here in Texas called Ronnie Earle. It accused him of illegally engaging in politics, by asserting some ‘conspiracy’ in terms of how funds were supplied to campaigns and accusing him of breaking the law. Except he did stuff in 2002 and the law was created in 2004. So the major indictment was tossed by appeals judges. Then he kept some other indictements hanging around. That indictment did the trick of removing DeLay from power, and so since then the ‘speedy trial’ that is his right has been ... well, put on the back burner, for the simple reason that the case was and is entirely bogus.
“What’s he doing appearing in public on Dancing with the Stars and featured in a seeBS article? “
He’s the celebrity equivalent of those retreads who’d end up on Hollywood squares, I guess.
Wouldn't that mean that she has illegally inspected the document if "she's seen it" and it is off limits?
Nope. It's not illegal for the person in charge of the records office to inspect and review the records held by that office. The concern is HIPPA rules, but nothing she said bumps up against that.
Fukino is an Obamunist with less credibility than Orly.
As Rush would say, “Right on, right on!” And what does it say about Barry’s apologists at FR having to dissemble daily to cover his fraudulent tracks?
“if he was born in Hawaii, his father’s British citizenship doesn’t matter???”
Correct, it doesn’t matter.
1. If Obama was born in Hawaii, then he was a US citizen at time of birth (Wong Kim Ark ruling, SCOTUS 1897). This is indisputable on all sides.
2. If he was a citizen at time of birth, the common understanding (eg Ted Olsen 2008 memo on McCain eligibility) is that makes him “a natural born citizen”. SCOTUS statements going back to the Blackstone common law affirm that thinking.
3. Dual citizenship does not impair the natural-born citizenship status , there is Supreme Court precedent (Elgg) and State Dept rules on that.
Lawsuits (Taitz, Berg) are trying to dispute that line of thinking, and rest on the very thin reed that #2 has not been explicitly held by SCOTUS at any time. Should this ever get to the Supreme Court however, they almost certainly will rule that way and hold a (putatively) Hawaiin-born Obama is a ‘natural-born US citizen’.
“Now they can’t have it both ways! If his mother’s US citizenship overrides his father’s if a Kenyan birth, but his father’s UK citizenship doesn’t override his mother’s if a Hawaiian birth? Talk about being inconsistent!”
What’s inconsistent is your understanding of citizenship law. It doesnt work the way you think it does.
So, are you going to share with us what nationality he used to acquire those passports? And don’t give us opinion, since you insist on evidence, show us why you make such sycophantic assertions for your obamessiah.
Obama has a US passport.
IF he didnt there wouldnt be passport files to rifle through:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/03/21/obama.passport/index.html
But the question was: "what nationality he used to acquire those passports?"
