Much of "savings" to be derived from cutting Medicare $500B and cutting approval of medical devices such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, pacemakers, etc.
Bogus is as bogus does.
They won’t be able to make those massive cuts in medicare etc to make sure this is in the black. When is the last time congress ever cut ANYTHING much especially 400-500 Billion dollars in medicare? This is laughable and is assuming something that won’t happen. Congress will not do what the bill says it is going to do to cut the costs that this is based on. PERIOD.
More... Baucus savings include government-determined doctors’ fees and hospital fees ... Surgeon General says “No doctor or hospital should make a profit...”
See there are no death panels...they’ll just deny you the right for medical devices and procedures and if you are invalid, too bad you can crawl around on a dolly like the good old days. Ahhh, Socialism ain’t it grand?
How can you spend 900 billion and “save” anything?
Of course we’ll be spending $821 billion over the same 10 years, so I can see why saving $81 billion is such a big deal; it’s really a wash give or take $700 billion or so.
Fix is in?
Then there won’t be doctors or hospitals.
Isn’t this all a kooky attempt at government wage and price controls, which are proven failures?
Keep calling and faxing. People saying this is over are lying.
seniors and baby boomers are going to get screwed.
Balony!
More... CBO says ObamaCare (not BaucusCare) will cost $ 829B over next ten years...
Just think of how much we could save if we didn’t do it at all.
“too bad you can crawl around on a dolly like the good old days.”
like Eddie murphy in Trading Places ha! picture needs posting
We need to stay on this and educate those that will take this report simply at its word without further examination. Talk to family and inform them as well as friends or anyone else that seems to just take this as an easy acceptance of this CBO report without further knowledge, clarification, and examination.
$900 billion for starters, to accomplish something the private economy already does without rationing, taxes, penalties, fees.
Isn’t it obvious the cost of this will go up and up and the associated taxes and deficits will be forced to go up and up along with it?
Just madness.
Will still have 18-20 million uninsured even though this will cost 829 billion.
We’re going to cut off pacemakers and wheelchairs and hearing aids? while we ramp up taxes on them and everything else?
good gawd this is a bad bill.
