This article says “bombs” plural and the car was parked:

Those are not “pipe bombs”, those are dehydrated sausages. The reason they triggered a response from the bomb detectors is they were made down Louisiana way by Thebedeau & Beudereau and are hot sausages.

Why is lately, that every time I read these type things, it implies that the car did it, all by itself?
Besides that, I am glad that the suspect, not the car, is in custody.
The area where it was found is heavily hispanic. My bet - gang related more than terrorism.
(Though I personally believe that gangs and terrorist share many traits)
