The National Review's breezily brilliant Jay Nordlinger recently described the way liberal politics are increasingly injecting themselves into sports reporting.
To the list of sports scribes who supposedly should be concerned with balls and strikes but instead use their gigs as platforms to let their liberal flags fly, add Fred Roggin, who does a regular sports spot on Morning Joe.
On today's show, Roggin's report on Rush Limbaugh's effort to acquire an interest in the NFL's St. Louis Rams was one long lambasting of Limbaugh that included this glaring misstatement of fact: that Rush was "canned from ESPN for racist remarks about Eagle's quarterback Donovan McNabb."

Idiot sports reporter takes inaccurate shot at Rush ping to Today show list.
Rush was canned for making racial comments about McNabb. He commented that McNabb got the attention from the media that he did because he is a black quarterback.
It was the media that was racist. Rush was simply pointing it out.
Good thing “Jimmy the Greek” never tried to buy a football team.
Agreed. Or if not racist, the media was race-obsessed and engaging in a form of sports affirmative action.
That is like saying 0bama gets a pass from MSM because he’s black. Oh, wait a minute ...
Black white or other, the NFL works on the color green.
ESPN gave us Olberfool. The funny thing is even though there are tons of libs in sports media I’ve found that there are a lot of conservative sports reporters out there. One of my favorites is Armando Salguero with the Miami Herald. Look at his twitter page and see who he’s following: Karl Rove, Mike Huckabee, Dick Morris.

I can’t wait for Rush to buy a team. Its bumper sticker will be on about half the cars in America. And F the dems.
You remember Fred Roggin, don’t you? He’s that billionaire, most read sports writer in the world, who contributes millions to charity, supports our troops,.......................oh wait, that’s Rush, not Roggin. Roggin is the smarmy weasel who has no following, doesn’t have a dime in pocket, and hate’s the United States of America. I’m sorry for the confusion. They’re so much alike!!
Please stop with the racist stuff, we are deaf to it now. Come up with something real!
-They learn their economics cadging free hotdogs and drinks from press boxes and Media Day gettogethers, so they have no idea how to actually earn money.
-In the end, sports is just that, sports. They're nothing more than games. So, they want something to make their lives relevant. Thus, they want to get in with all the cool "journalists" and start writing to get themselves jobs somewhere else besides covering "games" (see Bryant Gumbel and Keith Olbermann).
Sports writers need to get back to being entertainment writers. Fans want their teams and heroes propped up, not "shocking undercover investigations" that eventually sound like it was written by Bill Ayers.
I believe Roggin also had a little cocaine problem back in his KNBC days.....
Fixed it.
Truth is, the Eagles' success and failures over the "McNabb era" have far, far more to do with the health and production of Brian Westbrook than they ever had with Donovan McNabb.
You forgot that he thinks he’s funny!
Pointing out the obvious is racist now.
Agreed, Westbrook has got the warrior in him.
We shouldn’t forget that about 10 years ago he had to leave his Los Angeles television gig for several months to go into drug rehab.
Rush said that the msm wanted the quarterback to succeed because he was black.
Well, what do you know!
Here we are with another black man as CinC thanks to the msm.
Evidently the truth is a forbidden topic but they brought it up and it’s time to reflect on Rush’s comments.
