Latest Poll: Simmons leading Dodd 45 - 39 percent.

The latest Quinnipiac Poll is out and it’s more bad news for Sen. Chris Dodd. Despite a public relations blitz that had him returning to Connecticut for what seems like the first time in years, and a statewide email and choreographed “shout out” from President Obama in the Rose Garden, (Rob Simmons) is still leading Dodd 45%-39%.

Can this attitude of the American voter that picked up steam in August hold out until November 2010?

That’s NOT close for an entrenched, incumbent Senator. That’s bad news.

NOVEMBER 2006 : (AIG FINANCIAL PRODUCTS UNIT HEAD EMAILS EMPLOYEES ASKING THEM FOR DONATIONS TO SENATOR CHRIS DODD [D-CT]) The Washington Times reported that in a November 2006 e-mail, the head of the troubled Financial Products unit told employees that Dodd was “next in line” to chair the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, where he would “have the opportunity to set the committee’s agenda on issues critical to the financial services industry.”-—————— Dodd Aide Dismisses Report on Donations From AIG (When it hurts just dismiss it) , fox news ^ | 3/30/2009, Monday

How cool would it be if Dodd loses his seat?

Dare I hope?

MARCH 2009 : (IRELAND : REPORT — —— See SENATOR CHRIS DODD “LAND FOR PARDON DEAL” & DODD AND RAT REAL ESTATE) “A holiday home in Connemara is at the centre of a growing row in America involving a prominent Democrat politician, a convicted insider trader and the former president Bill Clinton. The purchase of the home by Senator Christopher Dodd is being examined by the US Senate ethics committee after allegations that Edward Downe Jr, a businessman convicted of insider trading, acted as a “middle man” in the deal.
Eight years ago Dodd, who ran for the Democratic presidential nomination against Barack Obama, lobbied Clinton, the then president, to grant Downe a pardon.”

I'm not sure I like this. I want Schiff to run and win. Simmons is just another RINO. Schiff would be one of the most interesting conservatives out there. Simmons is extremely boring and we've seen his type before. Don't get me wrong. Simmons would be a lot better than Dodd. But I think the more people see Schiff, the more they will like him.

Schiff needs to start contacting small town RTCs. I mentioned him to my town committee and most didn’t know who he is.

If he loses he'll just go to some board or consultant job at a company he directed taxpayer dollars to while he was senator. I know how this crap works.

I hate these people.

If you’re name is “no dems” why are you supporting Simmons? He’s the RINOest of the RINOs! Plus, I also notice you’ve cited RealClearPolitics, but your link is to Simmons’ campaign page. And it’s a four-month-old poll.

I hope a Republican beats Dodd, but I would rather a corrupt, scum-drenched, neutered Dodd wins rather than a corrupt, scum-drenched, new standard-bearer of the enemy media like Simmons win. The last thing we need is another go-to guy like that socialist traitor to represent the Republican party on all the Sunday Morning talk shows.

The idiots in the Republican Party (and you?) figure that if you let the enemy penetrate your front lines, that means you can count them as part of your army.

A win for Simmons is a win for Pelosi.

Turns out that the page that the article links to, Simmons’ campaign page, is four months old, but the poll referred to seems to be a recent Quinnipiac poll.

Dodd has always been slime, but, as chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, he was also one of the biggest Congressional accessories to the Fannie/Freddie collapse that precipitated our current recession.

What about McMahon’s wife ....

If she won, I’d pay to see Vince invited to the Senate floor - grab the mike, and yell:

“Lets Get Ready to RUMMMMBLE !!!” ...

Simmons is a RINO “blue blood”. I know his brother. The guy flips his collar up on his polo shirt. I was going to do the samething when he was around but wife wouldn’t allow it.

If one year from now the numbers are still the same, I’ll cheer. For today, only numbers from NJ and VA matter.

My question is, if this kind of trend continues, and if condervatives can retake the house, will they have the courage to be a “Congress of Repeal” and un-do what has been done by the current Congress?

“It seems kind of close to me.”

A senior senator is attracting 39% of the vote, give me a break, this is great news for the GOP.
