Perry is not a conservative if I have heard the reaction properly.
Now going on your word to go see these comments.
Rich, I hope!
So, in a hypothetical of a tyrant usurping the Constitution and creating a self perpetuating dictatorship it is the ones who defend the Constitution as being painted as the evil bad guys !?
Why is Steve Benen writing articles about a Military Coup?
What is he trying to start?
Wow. These people are seriously delusional.
Seriously, I have never witnessed our Nation at such an important fork in the road. There is lots going on right now that I would have never dreamed of in our country. Citizens in the millions demanding redress from a congress that has chosen to dismiss them. Gun and Ammo sales beyond comprehension. People hoarding food not for Y2k, terrorism, or disaster reasons, but for reasons no one will yet openly speak about. A military overthrow of elected leadership...there may be a real reason the leadership is suspect. If we elected a set of spies or traitors, there would be a need for a military overthrow; and that need would not be openly evident. Suspicion is there and that would be all the average astute citizen would have.
Sept. 11, 2001 put our country on edge, but not anything like our own "elected officials" have accomplished. We are indeed living in interesting times.
Obama’s radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible.
Everything in politics is reversible with the right congress.
That would be appropriate.
This should be an interesting thread ping
This is one of those:
"My fellow citizens, the next civil war may be right around the corner. Or it may be that we continue to screw around and let this crap go on and on for another generation.
But the next civil war is inevitable.
The last time, they assassinated a president, got away with it, and we appeased and pandered to the Disloyal South with a whitewash Truth and Reconciliation, and a hearty reconstruction. Instead of razing their cities to the ground, taking their women and children into slavery, and putting all the men (lets call them "enemy combatants") to the sword.
And because of this leniency, the stars and bars still proudly fly over their capitols. They still talk openly of revolution, and genocide, and they still hold midnight meetings with their pointy-white hats.
Might I suggest, that THIS time - (though we've already allowed them to murder the Kennedys, and MLK, and probably also senator Wellstone) - THIS time. . . can we PLEASE do the job right?
When (not if) they start another SHOOTING civil war - they should suffer real consequences. As a culture, they should be held responsible. As responsible as NAZI Germany was held after WW II. (might I suggest y'all take a look at photos of downtown Berlin after the Soviets got through with them). The noose should change from a symbol of black lynchings, into a symbol of justice for these thugs.
Lincoln's murderers were NEVER brought to justice. And their heirs and descendants are still plotting. Banjos and bayonets."

Amazing. The commenter that said conservatives hate this country and everything it stands for. I don’t even know what to say to that....
Because, you know, Newsmax is such a credible, mainstream information outlet. EVERYONE reads it, and takes every article as gospel.
When the healthcare fight is over, they will come for free speech and press.
The groundwork is already being laid down.

The Obama Administration Is Criminalizing Dissent? Intimidating Its Ideological Opponents? You Must Be Joking [Andy McCarthy]
I’m still digging out of my various pre-election hate mail piles you know, “How could say Obama is a socialist who will redistribute wealth just because he used to be a member of a socialist party and criticized the Warren Court for failing to order the redistribution of wealth?”; “How could you say Obama is a Left-wing radical rather than a centrist moderate just because he made common cause with Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Mike Klonsky, Jeremiah Wright, Frank Marshall Davis, et al?”; “How could you say Obama would be an extremist on abortion and other life issues just because he supported infanticide as a Chicago legislator?”; “How could you say Obama would be anti-Israel in his governance and appointments just because he pals around with Rashid Khalidi?”; “How could you say an Obama administration would turn TARP into a Big Government slush fund just because he managed the Chicago Annenberg Challenge as a Big Lefty slush fund?”; “How could you say Obama will be soft on Iran just because Obama is soft on Iran?”; etc. But I note that I got plenty for this one, too:
Obamas Assault on the First Amendment
Ill be blunt: Sen. Obama and his supporters despise free expression, the bedrock of American self-determinism and hence American democracy. Whats more, like garden-variety despots, they see law not as a means of ensuring liberty but as a tool to intimidate and quell dissent....
[I]n St. Louis, local law-enforcement authorities, dominated by Democrat-party activists, [are] threatening libel prosecutions against Obamas political opposition. County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, abetted by a local sheriff and encouraged by the Obama campaign, warned that members of the public who dared speak out against Obama during the campaigns crucial final weeks would face criminal libel charges if, in the judgment of these conflicted officials, such criticism of their champion was false.
The chill wind was bracing. The Taliban could not better rig matters. The Prophet of Change is only to be admired, not questioned. In the stretch run of an American election, there is to be no examination of a candidate for the worlds most powerful office whether about his radical record, the fringe Leftism that lies beneath his thin, centrist veneer, his enabling of infanticide, his history of race-conscious politics, his proposals for unprecedented confiscation and distribution of private property (including a massive transfer of American wealth to third-world dictators through international bureaucrats), his ruinous economic policies that have helped leave Illinois a financial wreck, his place at the vortex of the credit market implosion that has put the U.S. economy on the brink of meltdown, his aggressive push for American withdrawal and defeat in Iraq, his easy gravitation to America-hating activists, be they preachers like Jeremiah Wright, terrorists like Bill Ayers, or Communists like Frank Marshall Davis. Comment on any of this and risk indictment or, at the very least, government harassment and exorbitant legal fees.
Nor was this an isolated incident.

Who needs a coup, just arrest the usurper.
hehhehe
The allegedly offensive article did NOT advocate a coup, it advocated the military reminding the President that his powers are specific and limited, not unlimited, and that their loyalty is to the Constitution, not to him.
See, I actually read the article. I’m not sure the above pundit did.
