Bill Ayers: “I wrote Dreams From My Father”

There I was, sitting in Reagan National Monday morning, sipping a Starbucks by the United counter before going through security. I had a little time, so I was browsing through the news. That's when I saw Bill Ayers, an instant blight. Scruffy, thinning beard, dippy earring, and the wirerims, heading to order. I gathered my things, got my camera ready, and snapped a shot right when he got his coffee.

He gave me an uneasy cheesy smile when he realized I was taking his picture.

I asked--what are you doing in D.C. Mr. Ayers?

[He said] he was giving a lecture in Arlington to a Renaissance group on education--that's what I do, education--you shouldn't believe everything you hear about me, you know nothing about me.

Then, unprompted he said--I wrote Dreams From My Father. I said, oh, so you admit it. He said--Michelle asked me to. I looked at him. He seemed eager. He's about my height, short. He went on to say--and if you can prove it, we can split the royalties. So I said, stop pulling my leg. Horrible thought. But he came again--I really wrote it, the wording was similar. I said I believe you probably heavily edited it. He said--I wrote it.

I look at these old radicals some who are only a little older than me...5-15 years

and I wonder how come very early on by aged 23-24 I had dumped all that radical viewpoint like three day old tuna fish and these old bespectacled geezers still cling to all that youthful nonsense?

many of them were rebelling against the system not their parental authority like I was...hell, most of them had parents who were commies too or at least sympathetic...they were fostered, this is their reality

take a look at the SDS-Weather Underground leadership rosters...90% of those kids were solid gold Red Diaper Babies...they did not grow up in a home that taught traditional values

Ayers, sorta WASPy in contrast to most of the others...still comes from a dad who was a benefactor to radicals from way back.

I woulda thought back 30 years ago that most of these nuts would have recanted and moved on like most young libertaria-lefties like me did but not this bunch.

When I saw “No Dream” I figured it would be him saying he didn’t write it. I would have titled it “Bill Ayers: Yes Dream”.

Be interesting to see if this goes anywhere. If he really did write it, then yes, it’s another Obama marketing ploy that makes suckers out of easily-duped Americans.

2012 Presidential campaign: I can see signs all over the place during the 2012 presidential campaign with something like this:

Does he have a webpage promoting his work and does he promote his work through WND articles? If not, then I’d agree that he shuns publicity:)

But like all journalists and authors he must get SOME publicity or who would know he’s there to read his stuff and buy his books?

I’m not criticizing him in any way, I like his output. I’m pointing out, though, that there are more interested parties in this than the article author, Ayers, and the Obama family.

As Poincaré points out, this line is just a sarcastic snotty put-down -- pretty much what you'd expect from a perpetual snotty brat like Ayers.

More than anything, little Billy is probably feeling ignored, betrayed (why did Arne get the nod, eh?), and scorned -- in a word (as the Left is so fond of saying), marginalized.

Hell hath no fury and there's no honor among thieves and all that, so this low-profile admission, if legit, may have been a rehearsal for a much higher-profile announcement or a shot across the Mutt's bow, if not both.

No, It wouldn’t be easy. Probably, obongo gets them and pays Ayers. OR, he stopped paying him, or maybe he never did. Maybe now that the book has made a lot of money, Ayers is feeling a bit rejected. Maybe obongo won’t let him come to the WH and he feels used. Maybe Ayers isn’t happy the Communism isn’t happening faster. It sounds like someone peed in Ayers Cheerios.

BTW, Dale was said to have embezzled a million from ACORN, but down in Louisiana they prosecutors are finding out that Wade and Dale together embezzeled more than five million. I find this sad and sick: Obama is interviewed all over the place by these famous tv and radio people who claim to be impartial journalists, but not one person has had the guts to come right out and confront Obama with this question:

"Obama, there are strong rumors that Ayers wrote your book. Is that true?"
