If true, then Richard Nixon may have been “one of the 36”. He lacked charm, was an abrasive politician, energized his enemies, was nonchalant toward political allies... ...so he may have been one of the 36 placed in the Presidency for a very specific reason.
Now and ever more though, Jews will vote 79-90% for the democrat for reasons known but unknown.

Nixon did a lot of Good things that he will never get credit for Brilliant Politician, the Watergate crap was a necessary evil as even on the street level in Miami word was that communist influence was rampant in the democrat party. Two mistakes: Should have erased the tapes and he trusted the wrong people.

Yup. Vietnam has always been called Nixon’s war too.
It will be most gratifying to hang Afghanistan around 0’s neck as HIS war.

What I cannot understand is why when Republican Presidents, who have been some of the best friends the State of Israel ever had, Jewish voters continue to support Democrats and Liberal Democrats at that, who now seem to favor the terrorists and the complete destruction of Israel.
Please Explain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nixon said, this is insane. . . . He just ordered Kissinger, Get your ass out of here and tell those people to move. I'm sure 0bama could show the same resolve - if he were talking about photographers.

... implemented a breathtaking transfer of arms, code-named Operation Nickel Grass, that over a four-week period involved hundreds of jumbo U.S. military aircraft delivering more than 22,000 tons of armaments. Thus making the Yom Kippur War the first that Israel fought using a significant amount of US arms.

Nixon may not have gotten much credit in the US for his aid to Israel in the Yom Kippur War in 1973, but he remained well liked by Israelis up to his death and his legacy in Israel remains to this day.

I remember an old internet article where an acquaintance of Rabin asked him to rate the US presidents he had known, in terms of their relationship with Israel. “Reagan was good. Clinton was terrible. But Nixon.... That man saved Israel.”

Nixon would have sent troops, Vietnam veterans, but chose not to. Why?

All true but Alexander Haig was instrumental in pushing Nixon to do it. Nixon was being impeached and it was hard to get him to move. Some accounts say Haig took a lot of the initiative to authorize weapons transport to Israel due to Nixon being incapacitated. Did it without Nixons signing off on it.

I had heard that Nixon only agreed to the arms shipment when Israel informed him that they were ready to implement their Sampson option. And that Nixon didn’t want to see a nuclear war occur on his watch. (nor risk the Russians thinking it to be American nukes hitting their client states)
