The statement was issued by the general’s spokesman, Col. Erik O. Gunhus, in response to questions from The New York Times.

Cynical ol' me has to ask, "Now, why would the NY Slimes think to ask questions about General Petraeus' health?"

Perhaps President Obama; Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr.; Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates; Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton; Adm. Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; or one of the other top officials who were informed of the initial diagnosis and treatment tipped off the NY SLimes.

And that is pretty sleazy.

Prayers Up for Gen. Petraeus and his family.

I heard a trial balloon being floated last evening about Petraeus making a Presidential run. I assume this was what incited the Slimes to make the cancer information public. Stick a pin in the balloon ASAP.
