Georgia Jury Finds Man Guilty Of Six-Year-Old Child's Murder
Reported by: Monday, Oct 5, 2009 @04:33pm
(Brunswick, GA) -- It took a jury in Brunswick, Georgia less than two hours Monday afternoon to convict David Edenfield of abducting, molesting and murdering six-year-old Christopher Barrios two years ago.
Edenfield showed no emotion when the panel announced guilty verdicts on nine counts related to Barrrios' slaying.
In his closing argument to the jury, District Attorney Stephen Kelley said Edenfield's own words describing how he sodomized and then choked the six-year-old to death convicted him.
Kelley played portions of a DVD recording of Edenfield confessing to Glynn County police that he molested and murdered the kindergartner as the child begged him to stop.
The jury now is taking up the matter of punishment in this death penalty case.
sigh
Since this is not a Fulton County jury - this feller may have a date with the lethal injection suite.
I hope a big burly guy gets to Edenfield in jail first.
I trust that our Lord will take very good care of him in the afterlife. And somehow that makes me feel better.
The Superior Court will have its final say ...
Most likely he will get a new trial or worse he will have the conviction thrown out on appeal because his confession should not have been admitted in to evidence.
Improper procedure .
And I envoke Rule 303 to ensure that judgement comes sooner rather than later
Just take him out back and shoot him.
That poor child.
This stuff just makes me sick.
OK, now kill him-NOW!
