I agree. Bush just pssd me off on two issue.
1. Failed Americans of Prime Opportunity to address border security.
2. Bush Acquiescing to the powers to be and selling capitalism and the free market system out.
Other than that, hey he was great president, right?
Totally agree. Although it might qualify as a subcategory of your second complaint against Bush, I also was pssd off by the spending (prescription drugs,education, egs.)
It’s really a shame, because a lot of good things can be said about Bush, but his ultimate legacy will be significantly diluted by these very important failings as a conservative. He was pretty good on the War, pretty good on terrorism, missle defense, tax cuts, support for Israel and democracy generally, made and/or strengthened some good alliances with, eg. India and a few of the former Soviet republics and appointed two very fine Supreme Court Justices.
I could really go on, but, it crazy as it seems, if I don’t work, I don’t get paid. sheesh.
