All crimes of passion, not just for fun.Hardly. Huge drug gangs routinely shoot it out with police on the streets. There was another one just a few weeks ago. A couple of years ago an armed robbery turned into a shootout in front of the American consulate in Rio.
Check out a documentary from a few years ago called "Bus 174," about an attempted bus robbery that turned into a hostage situation.
