And I bet most entertainers/celebrities have these same personality disorders. Witness the Hollywood Idiots coming to the defense of Roman Polanksi, for example. They declare his arrest to be an affront to artistic freedom, or minimize the offense by saying it wasn’t “rape rape” or a bad enough assault on the girl.
And to think that our culture looks up to these damaged personalities as role models. Very sad.

The “trouble” has more to do with a mediocre running game, mistakes and missed opportunities...on the field, not off.
Ben has not been named a party to the lawsuit...at least nt yet...so I wouldn’t get my shorts in a knot over this.
He sue is not Kurt Warner but he also is not Michael Vick.

That’s exactly the point. Maybe one isolated incident I can see. With all this stuff happening - the motorcycle accident, the civil suit, and now this, something has to be up. There simply isn’t that much smoke if there’s no fire.
That's not the point. VIP's can be jerks. Many of them have uttered the phrase, "Do you know who I am?". Let's assume Big Ben was a jerk, offended because some officious busboy demanded his 27 year old date's ID. He probably didn't want the tabloids knowing the names of the people he was seeing, and guess who would send that info in to the tabloids? Someone checking his date's ID, that's who.
But, the point is not whether he is or isn't a jerk. The point is, it's a non-story as far as Ben is concerned. The girl was 27. The restaurant is very concerned to make its clientele happy. The owner fired the employee as a reasonable business decision in those circumstances. If the guy was at will, then there is no case. If the guy has some claim, then he might get a little money. Big Ben's involvement is not a scandal or reflective of anything about him. He's not married.
And yet a bunch of people, some of whom didn't even read the article, jumped in here to say that Ben is like an NBA rapist.
This isn’t even about their play. I don’t dislike the Steelers, but I can’t take the constant excuses for the bums on their team.
James Harrison beats up his girlfriend and that’s OK because he’s a great football player. The Steelers got rid of Cedrick Wilson for an almost identical incident, but Harrison’s was OK. Oh, I forgot it’s OK because his girlfriend supposedly didn’t want the baby to be baptized. I’ll have to remember that beating her is OK. It’s also OK to assault a much smaller player in the middle of the Super Bowl because he’s cut blocking. The point is there are surely thousands of people who have disagreements over baptism; only the thugs resort to assault. Hundreds of NFL players are cut blocked every Sunday and they don’t start throwing punches.
Hines Ward is a tough player and seems like a good guy. That doesn’t change the fact that he occasionally cheap-shots defenders who aren’t looking. I get told this is OK because it’s football, even though the play is over (or on the other side of the field). I’m sorry, but that’s cheap.
Ben Roethlisberger gets the same excuse machine in motion.

Not saying it's right, it's just the way it is. It is an insight into Rothlesberger's character that fans should note, but it is a far far way from the kind of thing that Kobe Bryant went through. Jerks are plentiful in sports, they probably outnumber the humble, well mannered ones.
I hear ya. I do think though that we don’t know the whole story in this matter. I’d rather wait and see how it all plays out. As I said, Ben has not even been named as a defendant in this suit, and who knows what counterclaim(s) Harrahs may have. For all we know, the ex-employee might have been fired because he had a history of being a lousy worker and this incident was maybe the last straw. There could be other legitimate reasons why he was shown the door.
Plaintiffs allege a lot of baloney in their lawsuits. It’s kinda like throwing a plate of spaghetti against the wall to see what sticks. We probably won’t get the whole story until it all plays out. If the matter settles, we may never know the whole story.
