Subject: Fwd: Action Alert: Walk Out Now

Date: Wednesday, September 30, 2009, 9:19 AM
This is an action alert and came from the National Tea Party Patriots. This is something you can do from home but that can really make an impact. Everything we have been doing with protests and calling our elected officials is making a difference, but we need to fight this health care bill with everything we have.
Please read the piece below and it will explain the process and the impact it can have. This came from a tea party group in Florida who did the research on it. There are only 10 members that we need to target. Thank you.
Humboldt Tea Party Patriots
If you have been following the Senate Finance Committee meeting on the amendments to the Health Care Bill you know that every single Republican amendment is defeated with a unanimous vote by the Democrats and every Democrat amendment is passed by unanimous vote by the Democrats. This is a waste of time and money and America will suffer.
However, there is a way to stop this dead in its tracks:
Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure for the Senate Finance Committee reads: "Rule 4. Quorums. -
(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) one-third of the membership of the committee, including not less than one member of the majority party and one member of the minority party, shall constitute a quorum for the conduct of business."
Let it be known, that conservative citizens all across the United States demand that the Republican Senators in the Senate Finance Committee stop negotiating and
WALK OUT FOR AMERICA.
We will support this effort and will support the Republican members of the Committee.
Contact the members listed below with a phone call and email. Quote the rule while on the phone and copy the rule in your emails. This must be done quickly. This action was presented by local coordinators on a state conference call and was unanimously approved by all members on the call.
National groups will be contacted tonight and tomorrow to set this action in motion.
Please notify all of your local members and notify your local press if you choose. Use call in radio shows where available. Make this happen for the good of our country as it may be our last chance in the Senate. Thank you for everything you do.

Is the senate rule correct?
I got it in email too, but couldn’t get my head around the quorum rules enough to engage my action reflex. A bit too parliamentary for my simple Minuteman-type brain.
I’m guessing that it’s legit, by the look of it.
Well, it does raise a good question. Why should a Republican offer any assistance at all?
bump
So how about a nation-wide walkout, a general strike, by conservatives?
How in the world can a message get through to these boneheads?
How can Republicans walking out on this quorum be considered "assisting" the Democrats? Honest question.
bookmark.
Snowe would not do this, she is with the RATS for sure.
I wonder if Snowe gets any funds from the Republican Committee? Maybe efforts would be better spent if everybody started threatening the Republican Committee for funding people who only vote with the 52% of the time.
sounds simplistic but i agree. they do not care. they will keep pushing on this plan until they get it. and the republicans are co-dependent to keep meeting with them. if you date a rapist, you will have sex — whether you want to or not.
I mmeant that as a rhetorical question. Badly phrased. Sorry.
