He’s not a “decent guy.” He’s what the Left thinks a “decent guy” should be, i.e., a misogynist who tries to destroy peoples’ lives by telling lies and using sick humor.

Many people on the left, and some on the right, judge people by their personalities. If someone is charming in person(regardless of, say, they way they are on the air)then they are perceived to be a "nice guy". Doesn't matter what they are really like, if they are "likable" then they have to be "nice guys". Most serial killers were "likable" and probably viewed as "nice guys" by people who knew them. The left doesn't go by character, only personalities.
