An Army lieutenant who refused to deploy to Iraq in 2006, saying he believed the war was illegal, has officially left the service. Fort Lewis spokesman Joseph Piek confirmed that Ehren Watada was discharged Friday.

whatever drove him to become an officer....honor, love of America, duty etc.....most of just all of a sudden just eluded him..
Good riddance, you POS
Here in Hawaii he is known as a disgrace to our state and the brave men and women now serving and those who have served in the past.
He’s not fooling anyone with the war is illegal nonsense. He joined the anti American liberals because he knew they would support him if he blamed President Bush. He’s the worst kind of coward.
People are retried after a mistrial all the time without double-jeapardy attaching. Why was his different?
Wouldn’t a ROTC agreement include having to reimburse the Army (much as paying back a college loan) if the commitment isn’t kept for other than honorable discharge?
Good riddance of the coward.
With his parents history of anti-war leftist activity, I don’t doubt he joined just so he could pull the stunt he did.
He is a disgrace to the uniform and a total failure to his men, who he was supposed to lead.
Remember the name because you will undoutedly see it running for office soon with the full support of another traitor, John ‘F’in Kerry (who is said to have served in Viet Nam).
Should have hanged him. A firing squad’s too honorable for a sh*t like him.
