COPENHAGEN – Chicago's early exit from finalist balloting for the 2016 Olympics was a personal setback for President Barack Obama and a painful defeat for America's most prominent Midwestern city.

Tokyo was eliminated in the second round, leaving Madrid and odds-on favorite Rio de Janeiro to square off in the final balloting.
Chicago had seemed to pick up momentum in the last few days, with many IOC members seemingly charmed by Mrs. Obama, who came to Copenhagen ahead of her husband. But when IOC president Jacques Rogge announced the first vote's results, while the Obamas were flying home on Air Force One, Chicago was out.

I have a feeling that "Mmmmm Mmmmm Mmmmm" is going to see a lot of action in 2010 and 2012. If you are into doing political videos (I am one those) it is just too, too juicy to pass up.

Pseudojournalist Julie Pace made that up out of whole cloth to suit her own agenda. There isn’t a shred of evidence to support it.
TWO VIEWS:
The talking heads were saying that Chicago was in the bag, and that Obama (& his wife) would not have gone there personally if it wasn’t a sure thing. His handlers had it set up so he would come home in a great triumph while the MSM fawned at his feet....’Obama the Great’! But that video of a boy being beaten to death by Chicago ‘Yoots’ killed the deal.
Another view is that Mayor Daley, who is no stranger to political arm twisting, knows a lot of Obama’s dark secrets, and told Obama to get his ass over there and get the Olympics for Chicago, or else. It’s how politics works in Chicago. And as Obama knows Chicago Politics all to well , it wasn’t a matter of saying NO to Daley. When Daley told Obama to jump, Obama will only ask “How high?”.
Regardless of which view is the correct one, Obama has lost some serious prestige in the World view and here at home.
