David Letterman told millions of viewers he had been the target of a $2m (£1.2m) extortion bid over his affairs with workers on the CBS show he has fronted since 1993.
Shortly after his candid confession, it emerged that one of CBS's own producers Robert Halderman, 51, had been arrested on suspicion of masterminding the scam.
Emmy-award nominated Halderman, who worked for real-life crime documentary series 48 Hours, is also believed to have had a live-in relationship with one of Letterman's lovers.
She was today named as Stephanie Birkitt, 34, who worked alongside him on the Late Show.

Years ago when I used to watch a female staffer used to talk to Letterman for laughs during the show, she would be somewhat flip with him at times deliberately..I wonder if this is her? The name Stephanie sounds familiar...hmmmm

According to the article, their affair pre-dated the birth of his son, but after he started living with the woman who is now his wife. But apparently, the affair is not news to his wife, either.
Seeing the darker haired picture, I think it is who I thought it was!
