You should see a psychiatrist to address your Russia phobia. We are not discussing the Serfs, Cossacks, Czars, Marx, Lenin Gulags or the communist USSR. We are in the 21st century with a new Russia and a NEW bigger ENEMY that's out to dominate the world.

Take tailgunner joe long.

We are dealing with an expansionist ex-KGB thug of a country that deserves NO place among civilized nations.

No we are not. We are speaking of an expansionist NATO.

Both Barrack and Putin are powerful and may be thugs. Who do you think is the bigger one.

You are speaking like a 1st class bigot, condeming the Russian people and their country for no good reason.

A farcical attempt to paint Israel black: The UN Human Rights Council’s report into the Gaza conflict is a shamefully biased document

No, I know my history and the current Russian regime. Imperialist expansionism has no place in the 21st century.

Who has more bases around the world? Russia or NATO member nations?

The NATO member countries agreed to the bases in their own territory, and compensate the US for bringing troops in. Russia invaded a sovereign state on the pretext of protecting the ethnic Russian Fifth Column in Georgia.

Much appreciated. Makes me feel better reading something from the TimesOnline. And I stand corrected on my initial comment.

Yes, Georgia shot the Russians on Georgian soil first.

Essentially it’s a technical foul.

I'll go with this one and ignore the rest. Not my fight. I do think it is an interesting argument however.

...after it lied about it and said it did not. - That is the point you are missing (and the Russian troops were authorized to be their by Georgia).

Georgia told them they wanted them out. Russia told them that they wanted to negotiate. In short, Russia told them “Make us leave”.

Russia is just spinning this because their claims of genocide have been completely busted. Especially since more Georgians were killed by Russian s than vice versa.

An unstable and power mad little dictator wannabe named Shakashvili - who shut down FOX owned TV station before the war - thought his military gamble may pay off because he felt Russia was not able to make good on its military abilities. Maybe someone told the Georgians to try out the Russians - if the RUssians did nothing it would have pretty much exposed Russia as a toothless regional tiger and weakened Putin. In any case Georgia fired the first shots fired in an attempt at a blitz that killed Russian peace keepers who were there by treaty consent. In the words of the immortal ROscoe P. Coultraine from the Dukes of Hazzard this gave the Russians the go ahead to attack in hot pursuit.

I Russia's (bogus) claim at genocide was to tweak against the USA for its equally proven false claim of genocide in Kosovo as justification for NATOs first offensive war. I mean who is to say Russi ais wrong in saying it prevented a genocide when no evidence came out for one just like NATO claimed it did in Kosovo?

Yes, we’re all familiar with the wild rants of Russian apologists. No need to rehearse them so perfectly.

So when is Russia going to give up the land they seized under false pretenses?

The wild rants are coming from the Shakkashvili crowd with his wild rant of Russians pouring through the Roki tunnel as his pretext to start the war proven false --- and I guess Russia going to give up the land they seized under false pretenses when gives up the land of Kosovo they seized under false pretenses from Serbia.

You remember that war right? When the USA helped al-Qaeda linked Muslims kill Christian Slavs so Clinton can get a Lewinski moment off his chest?
