NEW YORK Former Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu was sentenced to more than 24 years in prison Tuesday by a judge who accused him of funding his fraud by manipulating the political process in a way that "strikes at the very core of our democracy."
U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero sentenced the 58-year-old Hsu to 20 years in prison for his guilty plea to fraud charges and another four years and four months in prison for his conviction at trial for breaking campaign finance laws.
In a lengthy criticism of Hsu's fraud, the judge said the former fundraiser used political contributions to win respect and impress investors as he committed campaign finance fraud.
"Mr. Hsu's disgraceful use of political campaigns to perpetuate his Ponzi schemes, as well as his acts of campaign finance fraud, strikes at the very core of our democracy," Marrero said.

If he did sang like a canary they would accuse him of being a right wing nut and give him life with no probation.
Taking one for the team, yeah that’s the spirit.
Seriously, these Ponzi schemes have been springing up like weeds. Do their instigators have suicide wishes? This is a tiger that you cannot forever grip by the tail.

Good thing he was stealing for a Dem or this would be a scandal.
Pray for America and Our Troops
The Messiah will pardon him in a couple of years.
He’s going to die in prison within the next few months. That’s a big old vat of ugly information that is in need of Arkancide.
That’s Democratic Ex-fundraiser.
If you’re going to be a crook, be the bribee, not the briber.
doesn’t he have communist ties?
