My money’s on Goldman Sachs and the rest of the big boys. They’re undefeated so far, after all.
“If carbon cap-and-trade becomes a reality”
Never, ever going to happen. If by some freak accident it does happen, the Republicans will be able to rescind it after they take back the house and senate next year.
They could trade “air.”
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Matthew 16:26 KJV)
You are so right. I would rather have my soul for sure!
trading vapour futures, what a job.
But what exactly is happening, here in the Land of Reality, when someone buys and sells 'carbon contracts'? If I buy a carbon contract does that mean potentially someone could dump a load of graphite at my door (assuming I wanted it delivered)??
Carbon Trading is just an artificial junk bond trading scheme.
Here’s my basic understanding of it: Carbon credits are the right to emit x amounts of carbon into the atmosphere. Carbon trading will be a market based on the value of those carbon credits. (Guaranteed to go up, by the way, since the number of carbon credits issued every year will decrease every year by law).
Basically, they found a way to turn hot air in to money. Now I suppose it’s possible that one day people will come to their senses and the whole thing will collapse, but that just means we’ll be bailing out the big boys again. Too big to fail, and just getting bigger, after all.
Correction: In this case, it's fools and OUR money.
If Cap-and-Trade can be defeated the world carbon credit market may collapse in the current economic environment. For that reason there is secret pressure being applied from all over the world on our Congress.
‘Vapor Traders’
Isn’t it interesting that the MSM doesn’t apply the same standards to those who will make money from the Carbon Trading schemes, and who are pushing the whole Anthropogenic Global Warming, as they seem to do to those who don’t subscribe to the AGW nonsense? Their opinions are discounted, because they ‘work for big oil’, so they supposedly will benefit from not having Cap and Trade legislation. Like the folks doing Carbon Trading won’t benefit, right?
