There’s a certain childishness, a kind of wacky immaturity, that Beck exhibits, and it bugs serious people. He’s not on a par with Limbaugh or O’Reilly. The manic atmosphere he operates in suggests instability, and I won’t be at all surprised if he crashes and burns.

We’ll be denounced en masse as a bunch of wild-eyed conspiracy freaks and racists.

Yeah, Beck has really done as all in now. Nobody ever called Conservatives racists before he came along. And now, because of Beck, they'll all probably start denouncing us as some "Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy" or something.

“I’ve no desire to alienate some of my many friends on the right ... “

I’m guessing his many friends would be: Levin, the US Chamber of Commerce, “conservatives” like Graham and McCain, everyone at the Wall Street Journal & the Weekly Standard, and a dirty, egg-sucking dog that sleeps in a hole right off old Route 66 just outside Amarillo, Texas.

But his attempt to co-opt the tea party movement with that silly 9/12 Project nonsense that never actually caught on was the most ham-fisted and perhaps only insulting one of them all.

The best line in the article. And SOOOOO true!!!

Not a bad article. Unlike Kathleen Parker and Peggy Noonan, the writer at least attempts to convince readers. A much more serious writer than David Frum.

Glenn Beck is an American hero and the left and the MSM will spin things against us no matter how we behave. We may as well help bring down some real goons like Van Jones and this nutbag Cass Sunstein.

I think it’s a little strange that the writer spent THREE paragraphs talking about how Glenn Beck rightly pointed out that Obama was a racist who hated white culture and, by default, white people. Obama referred to his grandmother as a typical white person and used her sickness at the end of the campaign for a publicity stunt.

Full disclosure — yes, Mark Levin has become something of a dear and trusted friend. But please don’t mistake this as carping or defense on his behalf.

LOL....Im sure.

From the 9/12 tea party march, to Van Jones, the NEA scandal, and ACORN, none of these were the genuine work of Glenn Beck. He did no heavy lifting on any of those stories other than ginning up noise around them on his show, often milking them for days while, to genuine observers, all the facts were out there for anyone of a mind to find them out.

The author is missing the entire point. Yes "all the facts were out there for anyone of a mind to find them out". THAT WAS THE PROBLEM! You had to be willing to expend energy looking for the data!

What Beck did was to package the data into an easily digestible form, and make sure that PEOPLE ACTUALLY SAW IT.

Even if you were to assume the worst about Glenn Beck was true, how does that hurt the republican party?
That’s the equivalent of claiming no one votes for democrats anymore because of Michael Moore.
Some serious contortions are required to attempt (much less accept) that premise.

It didn't take but to read the fist few sentences to find the fault with this article. Quote, “Glenn Beck deserves credit for what he is doing to hurt Obama”. Wrong wrong wrong. Glenn is not doing what he does to “hurt” Obama. He is merely seeking out and telling the TRUTH about all the wrongs that are going on in today's politics. Lately I've seen him elbow the Republicans in the guts as much as Democrats. That alone tells me he is looking after us, the masses more than just “going after Obama”.

I agree with some of the points made in the article. Beck is certainly a self promoter, but again what big personality is not? I’m pretty sure that most of the Beck fans also are fans of Levin so I don’t get the point. What the media ignores Levin and promotes Beck because they think Beck is nuts? Beck has written some thoughtful books also.

The reason that they are looking at Beck is because his TV ratings have exploded this year since he’s gone to Fox. You can’t ignore that. Levin does not have a national TV show.

As for the racism comment, that came as I recall because of Obama’s knee jerk reaction to the Gates imbrogglio. The situation was a white cop and a black man and without any information (he admitted that) he assumed that the white cop was wrong and said the white cop acted stupidly. That is the defintion of racism, making assumptions about particular people based soley on the color of their skin. I.E. the cop was white so he must have acted stupidly. I believe that Rush made similar comments saying that Obama was racist also.

Was Pajamas Media ever a conservative site?

It seems now they post nothing but anti-Beck crapola.

Glenn Beck is a bundle of energy and a work in progress. Sometimes, Beck misfires or aims in the wrong direction, but over time, he has improved and will continue to do so. A year from now, he will be better yet, with a larger audience and his early mistakes forgotten.

Last night's, Friday show with the Mom's had so much potential, until the subject turned to required vaccinations and Ron Paul. I happen to believe that required vaccinations for TB, Polio and any other epidemics are some of the many things that separate us from becoming a 3rd world country. As far as Ron Paul goes, I've seen Lyndon LaRouche campaign ads before. Now I'm going to go to Mark Levin's website and listen to The Great One’s broadcast from last night.

I tried to do my best to address the topic fairly, and I regret that so complex a topic took me almost 1,800 words.

It might help if this jerk ever got to the point. I read the whole thing, and I'm afraid I don't understand a thing he said, except that he apparently doesn't like jokes.

... to Van Jones, the NEA scandal, and ACORN, none of these were the genuine work of Glenn Beck. He did no heavy lifting on any of those stories other than ginning up noise around them on his show ...

And he never CLAIMED to have done the *genuine work*, as a matter of fact, any time someone attempted to credit or thank him, Glenn immediately attributed his sources. He had Andrew Breitbart on both the radio and TV show to explain the damning Van Jones video, he had Andrew on with Judge Napalitano after showing us the first ACORN video to tell us how he had called Judge Tony to invite him for dinner with Andrew only to surprise him by asking him to view the footage with those two and render his judicial opinion. He has stated over and over that it was Breitbart and Big Hollywood who broke the NEA corruption, he's had the guy who recorded the phone conversation on his TV show twice, at least.

Glenn Beck takes no credit for these things, even when others involved, the 9/12'ers most especially, try to give it to him. There is a virulent anti-Beck agenda moving, unfortunately, fact stands in their way.

...all the facts were out there for anyone of a mind to find them out.

Yes, the ACORN footage, the damning Van Jones video, the audio recording of the White House complicit in the solicitation of artists to create propaganda, this was all over the place, why, one could hardly enjoy a football game, the networks and cable news channels were running it 24/7, every American was fully informed ... what in the world was Glenn doing wasting his airtime on this *old news*?? [/s]

Reihl and Levin are just doing Hannity’s fighting for him....

Hannity is scared to death of Beck, and FOX, fans, etc won’t stand for him to attack Beck- so he sends these two out to do it for him...

it is pathetic. I have lost ALL respect for Levin.

This country is in a fierce battle for liberty, and these two goons have nothing better to do than attack the one man fearless enough to take on the issues no one else ever has.

I am sick of the infighting among talk show hosts, Tea Party movements, Grassroots movements. This country is bigger than your damn egos- get on board to stop the corruption and destruction of liberty- or get the HELL OUT OF THE WAY!

Seems the author is condemning Beck for failing as a leader (which he isn’t) and failing to want to lead (he doesn’t).

The guy doesn’t get it:
- Beck is just putting the pieces together in an understandable form
- Conservatives are an aggragete of freedom-minded individuals; we have and want no leader.

In spirit I agree with the author. We should never raise any man too high, be it Beck, Limbaugh, Reagan, you name it. I am always watching regarding all of them. I know the “deceiver” is not called the “deceiver” for nothing.

And he IS right about Beck’s involvement being more to increase the size of his mouthpiece and, it naturally follows, the income produced by the show. That is only human though.

One of my biggest concerns about Beck is that he is Mormon. It means he comes from a completely different spiritual perspective than I do. It is as if he is Hindu, Buddhist or atheist. That always causes me to look doubly closely.

A question: If Beck was doing EXACTLY what he is doing now, in every way, but there was one single difference - hi is Muslim - would it impact how people interpret what he does?

We must always be cautions in trusting other human beings, be they popes, presidents or bus drivers. The only man that every lived that can be trusted explicitly and implicitly was hung on a cross and raised three days later.
