One odd note about this Obama-worshiping ceremony is that it seems to be based on some sort of mockery of a Catholic litany, which is not part of the usual black Protestant worship tradition.

That’s what bothered me tremendously. It sounded exactly like the responsorial psalms at church! (Hope I’m remembering the title of that section of mass correctly - was raised & confirmed Catholic, but am not practicing...).
It really did chill me to the bone to hear this... I’m STILL disturbed by it — feel like I have to go take a shower, but the water ain’t gonna wash off the INSIDE, and that’s where it feels the worst - like it contaminated my soul or something! (And, yes, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit, but not much!)
